Yes we enjoyed

First and foremost, pay attention to their uncompromising cancellation and change policy! They do not budge. Also, the "no outside food" policy is ridiculous. While you can easily go to other restaurants outside of the grounds, (which are substantially cheaper!) The pricing for drinks and most food is "resort" pricing and rather skewed for the area. We actually had two rooms, the first during a business conference and the second because we stayed longer for a holiday. The first room over looked a disastrous construction project going on at the hotel because rooms were in short supply and construction didn't stop until 22:00 and security lighting was on all night. The second room was better, but the bath was dirty with soap scum on the tub fixtures and obvious mold in the corners. The most distressing thing though was the fact that the cleaning staff cleaned the coffee mugs in the room using hand soap from the bathroom. I know this because I discreetly marked the mugs to see if they were changed and the "cleaned" mugs smelled exactly like the scent of the bathroom hand soap. There were some positives, most of the staff was pleasant, the food was good with a large selection and my wife enjoyed the spa offerings. The pool area was well kept and quite nice. I just wish they didn't spray for mosquitoes at dusk everyday while we were out at the pool.

The staff were more than helpful, the pool area was ok, the breakfast was the same everyday and at best average. The rooms were terrible, old with many defects, we had to move rooms, but the supposed upgrade was poor. This hotel is most definitely not 4 star, possibly 2 star or 3 at a push, but that would be for the helpful staff. When rating hotels on a UK website, please rate according to UK ratings, if you need someone to travel and review your Hotels then I offer my services, you have got this rating so terribly wrong. Would never recommend or stay here again, we paid double the cost by pre booking, if booked the day before travel we could have saved £450.

We loved our stay at Alila Diwa and would absolutely recommend it. We stayed outside of peak season which meant we were able to upgrade to Diwa club for a really reasonable price and I'd recommend doing the same, if you're able to; the rooms are spacious and bathrooms actually feel separate to the main bedroom/living area, plus you get access to the sundowners at Bistro. Our stay at Alila Diwa rounded off a 3 week trip around India and so we were ready for some sun lounger time, early nights and had already had two weeks of delicious North and West Indian cuisine. If that wasn't the case, I think we'd have been a little more disappointed in the food options at the hotel, particularly as there are limited walkable options nearby (GoaMiles doesn't operate in the areas so for taxis, you're reliant on organising via the hotel/a driver). The restaurants are nice but not as delicious as some of the cheaper, local places we visited in north Goa, before arriving. We also visited the spa for a massage. The service was really easy to organise and incredibly well priced for a 5* hotel. And it was quite literally the best massage of my life. If you want a beautiful hotel, time to rest and hospitality staff who are equal parts charming, equal parts utterly wonderful - then Alila Diwa is 10/10.
