Check in was absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. The lady handling our check in needs more training. None of her promises were met. She specifically asked us if we’re okay with a twin instead or a queen as we booked 2 queens we said yes, she even inquired if we’re okay with an accessibility room. We said we are flexible and would take anything that allowed us to have adjoining rooms. We flew from Canada and Indonesia to spend time together as family. The purpuse was to spend every minute together as we haven’t seen each other in years. The lady assured us that everything was settled and later said “Oh Sorry” there was a misunderstanding. This is the frustrating as we confirmed multiple times before leaving the counter. We were promised adjacent rooms. Whole check in staff on Saturday Aug 8 was completely incompetent. There was not even a manager on floor that could make my situation better. Absolutely no show of concern to satisfy our needs. Until the next day when I have to check out the other room I booked there was this Marniz lady that tried to make things slightly better for me. She went out her way to apologize and gave me parking complimentary vouchers (as its too late at this point as we already use our cash card) but her gesture mattered. One and only person that I would say worth to be on check in desk. The rest of the staff including Saturday manager on floor needs to be PROPERLY trained again. None of the show IHG qualities of hospitality.
