Great property for families!

My stay at Alohilani was ok. There are some clear pros and cons. Pros first, the location and view were excellent. Concierge and valet are great, very prompt and helpful. The food and service at Swell was enjoyable also. Cons, the halls smell strongly of mildew. The pool area leaves a lot to be desired; you must be in the pool to see the view. The room is cramped with very little counter space. The bathroom has a strange setup, shower in the corner with a small wall and no shower curtain. Water gets all over the floor when showering. The showerhead was dirty and the seat was in terrible shape. The no smoking policy is over the top, we were told we could not even light birthday candles as it may set off the sensors. The price of daily valet along with all the taxes and fees ended up being nearly $500 additional. I would not stay here again, the price does not match the experience.

If I go back to Hawaii, I will stay at the same place

Everything about our stay was Perfect! Literally have zero complaints. Oceanside balcony view was beautiful. Amenities were great. Great location. YUKO was amazing at the front desk. She handled herself very professionally while dealing with an upset customer who was being very unkind to her. I was waiting in line to check in when I saw this. She kept her composure and spoke in a low, non confrontational tone. She offered solutions to the guest and he was just being rude for no reason. She is a great representation of Marriott!

The “partial view” was hardly that! The resort fees were ridiculously high in my personal opinion! I’ve stayed at better resorts that charged way less! Food in that area is over priced and flavorless! Over all great location but be ready to spend lots & lots of money!
