Sleep Inn Logan Ohio-Hocking Hills

8/10 Good

"This was our first stay at a Sleep Inn. If we are in the area and need to spend the night, we would definitely stay here again. I called ahead of our stay to request a room on the ground floor. I was told they would try their best, but it was possible that it would not be possible. We did get our ground floor room 😊. The breakfast had a great assortment, no need to go elsewhere. We traveled with our dog, so our expectations are a little lower getting a room that has had other pets in there previously. Our room did not disappoint. There are restaurants on the same road within walking distance and easy to walk to, not a lot of traffic to navigate around."

"The rooms were very clean and comfortable. However, the front desk was not helpful. They kept insisting that even though I paid for the room days earlier when booked it hrough hotels.com that my payment had been declined and insisted on paying for it again with a new credit card. They stated either my payment was declined despite having a receipt, confirmation number and bank statement showing I paid. They then blamed hotels.com and told me I shouldn't book through 3rd party companies and to only use their website to book. It was a whole ordeal. I still don't understand what the problem was and they didn't bother explaining. All I know is after 2+ hours on the phone with the hotel management and hotels.com they finally gave in and told me a mistake had been made the gave me a coupon for free coffee because "dealing with 3rd party companies is really hard." Regardless, the place was not worth the hassle. Lastly, the pool was absolutely freezing. My kids were very disappointed because they had been excited to swim."

"We stayed the weekend while visiting Hocking Hills. It was just right for 2 people. The room was clean and the supply closet was stocked. I had never stayed in a staff-less hotel but it pleasant. We walked to dinner both nights and visited the local pub to end the nights and felt safe walking back. I would recommend and stay again. My only critique would be that the bathroom fan was very loud."
