The iconic Old Faithful Inn, amazing for the early 19th century log architecture and for being right next to the geyser. But the amazing stops there. Our room was tucked away on a bottom level, quite a hike from the lobby. Room and bathroom were tiny and just OK clean. No WIFI and very spotty cell reception. Place was mobbed 24/7 and we were not in peak season. Reasonable times for reservations at the dining room were not available. Parking stinks. I expected more for $500 a night. The nostalgia is not worth the price.

You don't stay at the Inn for the sleeping room, but the lobby, public areas and Old Faithful out the front door! The room is adequate, clean, etc., but as others have said, small and cramped...so hang out in the beautiful and historic lobby!

When we arrived, the staff were extremely rude. We had to wait 5 hours for our room…due to “computer updates”. Why were yall doing computer updates at 1pm??? The food? HORRIBLE!!! I asked for a charcuterie-I don’t EVEN know wth that was that I got! Non-edible! The room? Heater didn’t work, no hair dryer, light in bathroom didn’t work, no tv, no WiFi, no a/c. During the day? Bags and bags of khndrynpiled up in the hallway-it looked like a nursing home! This place was awful!!

People in room / hall above me walking sounded like squirrels in ceiling all night. Checkin delayed over an hour due to computers issues. They refused to comp even $10 for that. The room cost over $400 a night but no fridge or microwave. Elec kettle but no coffeemaker. So coffee was cold. I realize i was paying for location but they could do a lot better for their guests who travel so far. Dining very limited. That definitely is not a fifty-dollar buffet. The convenience of staying in a park hotel for location was great but the hotel itself was no more comfortable and had fewer amenities with less customer service than an average ninetydollar hotel.

Location wise it was excellent for our friends to experience Old Faithful and to rest a bit before pressing on with our trek. The rooms were in fair condition for the price paid. I know the staff was extremely busy and overwhelmed with tourists/customers, but that should not be an excuse for our rooms being over two hours late for our use.

The facility itself is a sight to see, absolutely beautiful! However, The beds were terrible and the lock on the doors are loud so you hear your neighbors coming in and out of their rooms. We did not get good rest here.

The Inn itself is incredible! It was built in 1903 and the wood features are magnificent. The lobby and the ambience is special. You can see Old Faithful from the second story deck or take a short walk to be closer. Check in is at 4PM. We arrived at 4:10 and were told that our room would not be ready until 4:45. Since the facility is old, the rooms are very basic, and not what we expected for the high cost of a room there. Dinner options are somewhat limited, are expensive, and require a reservation in advance. Without a dinner reservation at the Inn, there are no other options for dining. A beautiful facility, but perhaps not worth the price.

This is a great place to stay for the ease of being near the Geysers. If that is what you are looking for, this is the place to be. If you are looking for modern amenities, this is not the place for you.

The lobby has live music and is very lively. The rooms are very small and dated so be prepared for that. Everything was very clean though.

Parking was poor. Food was poor and extremely expensive, Room was expected to be dated. But not with chipped paint and poor cleanliness, Room was not ready when we first checked in. Very expensive room for what we got. I won't do it again.

It is a historic hotel with a beautiful lobby. It is right next to the geysers.That is all. Very very small room, no WiFi. No TV. Only central heating and they had a table fan in case you need air conditioning! Very expensive for what you get. Breakfast is only available and costed us $25 for two cold cut and cheese sandwiches.

Love the history and atmosphere on this hotel. You can't beat the location either right by Old Faithful Geyser. Enjoyed breakfast every morning. Dinner was a bit of a let down for the price. Not enough selection. We ate at Snow Lodge more.

Check in very slow. Long line and two check in staff. Queen room in west wing on back side first floor was very small but at least had its own bathroom. For over $350 a night the rooms felt like a rip off. Beautiful common space though and walkability in Old Faithful Village. For lodging next time we’ll stay in West Yellowstone.

This place charges are pretty high. I stayed 3 nights. AC units are pretty old and produce lot of noise in night. I think it’s better to stay at West Yellowstone and save money and spend that money on food and Gas. There are lot of breakfast/lunch/ dinner options at West Yellowstone.

The front desk told me that we couldn't check in until 4pm, at 4 pm we were told the computers were down and to return in an hour. This continued until 8:45 pm, when we were made to stand in a line for 45 minutes for manuel check in. We did not get into our room until 10pm, losing 6 hours of our stay. There was no recourse as we booked through Expedia.

To start, I preregistered at 1, to get the keys at 4, then at 4 they changed it to 5, then at 5 they changed it to 5:30/6:00. Finally got the keys. Absolutely NO wi-fi , no tv, no microwave. 4 pouches of coffee that were all decaf! WTH. Parking was bad and it’s not even peak season yet. Very old, very expensive ($430 for I nite with no amenities). Restaurant was extremely expensive, Gift shop was on the high end. And the steam radiator kept banging all night. All in all, just a good place to lay your head for one night.

Was great to be here at the end of the season in that the crowds were relatively small. However, the staff was clearly ready to leave; significantly, the food services were low on food and food options. Maybe this is understandable as they need to limit leftovers but it was annoying none the less.

While we enjoyed our overall stay at the charming Old Faithful Inn, we were unaware of the lack of food options in and around the hotel. This was our first visit to Yellowstone Park and we knew there may not be many locations to choose from, however we were surprised and caught off guard to learn that the only dining option at the hotel was a reservation only buffet. For the 2 nights of our stay, the earliest reservations left were for 9:45pm. Who wants to eat a buffet that late? We also were not able to find a place for breakfast the next morning, and ended up eating disgusting convenience store items from the general store. The experience in and around Old Faithful was wonderful, but dining and food options left much to be desired.

What a mistake to stay at the Old Faithfull Inn in Yellowstone Park. The only thing good about the stay was it was in walking distance to many of the geysers. The Room was dirty and very small with a poor dirty mold shower that I refused to use. The maim lodge itself is very nice and historic. The Food & Beverage is very poor and very expensive. The Hospitality Operator ( XANTERRA ) does a dis-service to the property. The hotel front desk has no customer service since I had ordered my stay on Hotels.com. The property at check out would not print me a check-out statement showing a zero balance. Hotel Mgr refused to give a invoice and further said they would not print my room folio. Horrible stay and will never stay where they are the operator of property.

The hotel room was furnished in cheap, what seemed 1960’s furniture. The carpet in our room was disgusting - - full of stains. We stayed in October and there was no dining options available — no bar menu and the dining g room was closed. Had to go to neighboring hotel if you wanted dinner which had and 1 1/2 hour wait given it was accommodating guests from two hotels. And for the rate we were paying, felt the foregoing was unacceptable. On the positive side, Kim, who checked us in was delightful and full of information as was most of the staff we encountered. And, of course, the location to the Old Faithful geyser and surrounding geysers was amazing. However I find it hard to be able to recommend this hotel.
