Inn was beautiful, the details exactly what you'd want for a weekend getaway. Room was cozy (room 6), bed was comfortable, jetted tub was awesome for us not having a tub at home, bar was a nice place to hang out and breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect, it was an easy walk into the center of town, even in winter. Honestly, nothing bad to say.
Great place for a quiet getaway, while being conveniently located next to a grocery store and walking distance to downtown Woodstock and Billings farm. Excellent breakfast too.
Close walking distance to all the great restaurant
Great Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Historic downtown Woodstock. Spent a relaxing 3 night weekend for Labor Day and everything was wonderful. The shops and restaurants were all walkable and did not disappoint. Thank you again!
Lovely place, people, and breakfast. Old buildings have smaller spaces but they are so interesting and fun. Cute little bar on nights it was open. Bed comfortable and place very clean. Very nice owners and staff, and town is cute.
Excellent service at a beautiful property, walking distance to everything in Woodstock. And the baked French Toast is a breakfast I will be thinking of fondly for years.
A quaint old b&b with beautiful character. Easy walk to downtown that has restaurants and shopping, a park with nature trail a very short walk down the street.(highly recommend) Fantastic breakfasts, and Heather was a fantastic host! We hope to go back for our anniversary next year!
This is an amazing bed and breakfast. A must stay if you’re planning a trip to Woodstock. The inn’s staff is incredible and made sure we had the perfect weekend getaway. Offers everything you need and more: friendly staff, cozy rooms, bar with great cocktails, phenomenal breakfast, cool interior design, and walking distance to Main Street near all the restaurants and shops. Highly recommend!
If you are looking for charm and antique style Vermont Inn, this is the place. Heather and Jarret are friendly, helpful and just a great couple that made me feel like a was a guest at their home. The highlight was the prepared food , a five star on presentation and taste. The service was outstanding from the staff, a fire going morning and night while enjoying breakfast and dinner. Recommend highly!!
The owner, Heather, is very friendly and knowledgeable. The email sent after booking gives great tips like getting reservations for restaurants ahead of time. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Would definitely stay again. Recommend!
The food was awesome. Property was conveniently located near town and walkable. The decor was too busy and Victorian for my taste. My bedroom was dark and I don't think ever got sun and the first floor dining area was cold.
The owners (Heather and Jared) work extremely hard to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. Breakfast was excellent! Heather prepares a made to order breakfast for each guest every morning. We also decided to have dinner at The Vic Tavern. It's an extremely popular place so make reservations early. Once again, the food was exceptional. Allow at least 90 minutes for dinner because it's not a fast food or chain restaurant. It's supposed to be a relaxing, enjoyable meal. The Inn itself is quaint and has a small common area with a mini fridge. It's also well stocked with coffee and tea. There is a small garden area for those wanting to sit outside and relax. All in all, we had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back
From the moment we arrived, Heather welcomed us and helped us have a relaxing stay. Our bed was very comfy and the shower had great water pressure. The tap water tasted like spring water! Delicious! Close to the village, there’s also a small market next door where we bought sandwiches for lunch. Heather’s breakfasts were gourmet amazing!

Service was outstanding. Alice is the best. The facility was dated and dark. Breakfast (complimentary) was very good (again thanks to Alice). Will probably try another place next time we visit the Wood.
Pros:
Location
Nikki (server) was very friendly and accomodating.
Food was very good
Cons:
The Innkeeper's (we believe the owner) demeanor and attitude in our opinion was very rude. We asked her a few questions:
-Are we able to check in before 3pm?
-Was there an elevator or bellman?
She became quite defensive and rude when we asked these questions, even telling us that maybe we should go somewhere else.
The room seemed much smaller and cramped than what the pictures showed.
There were stains on the lampshades causing us to be concerned about the cleanliness of the room.
We loved this Inn! Heather was a fun hostess and we enjoyed our chats with her at breakfast. The history of the inn is great to learn and the owners have created something beautiful! We were surprised after booking to learn that many restaurants and shops close for different days in the winter and how reservations were necessary. We made reservations in advance but they weren’t needed mid week. A casual lunch was a bit trickier but we bought a picnic from the market and had a great time. Woodstock has an amazing history. I highly recommend the free video at Billings Museum. Thank you, Heather, for the recommendation! This location is very walkable to the village and main shops.

The Inn itself was charming and the location was good. Our first night was met with disappointment when we hoped to light the fireplace, but no one could figure out how to get the pilot light back on. Additionally, the remote to the TV in the sitting area was “lost.” The hosts; however, did not charge us for a dinner at the Inn as a compensation for these minor inconveniences.
I sincerely doubt there's a better place to stay this side of heaven. The ambiance is gorgeous old-world but the accommodations are modern. And oh, the bed. It was truly like sleeping on a cloud. All this is orchestrated by the masterful proprietor, Heather. We felt like we'd known her forever. She's warm, welcoming and hilarious. The weather was terrible and I was there in Woodstock to promote my novel but I wouldn't have missed experiencing The Village Inn for the world. In addition to her warm hospitality, Heather is an amazing chef. The breakfast was outstanding every morning and please don't miss dinner. Wow. Her staff, especially the adorable and attentive, Charlotte are equally wonderful. You can feel the love, Heather has for her chosen profession. Get to know her while you're there. We've been all over the world and I have to say, The Village Inn in Woodstock, New York is up there in my top five places to stay.
From the moment we arrived at The Village Inn of Woodstock, we knew we were in for something special. The beautiful country inn had a warm, lively atmosphere, with the dining room in full swing, creating a welcoming energy—like the place had a soul. The Victorian-style furniture, antique mirrors, vintage luggage, and classic clocks made it feel like stepping back in time.
We stayed in Room 3, the only room with a working wood fireplace, which we used each night. It was the perfect way to unwind after exploring town. The bed was spacious and incredibly cozy—ideal for a romantic getaway.
The hospitality was outstanding. The owner, who also cooks, was warm and welcoming. As someone with celiac disease, I was amazed at the care they took. My gluten-free waffles, grits, eggs, and endless coffee/tea were incredible. It truly felt like a home away from home.
Breakfast was a highlight, but dinner at the inn was just as wonderful. The cozy setting, delicious food, and amazing cocktails made it a memorable experience. I highly recommend the Dirty Señor Santa!
This was the perfect romantic getaway, and we can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for charm, comfort, and great food in Vermont, this is the place to be.
We had a wonderful experience staying at The Village Inn in Woodstock and highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area. The location is ideal, making it incredibly convenient to explore the shops, galleries, and restaurants that Woodstock is known for. Close enough to walk to everything, yet far enough to offer a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Main St.
One of the standout features of the inn is the homemade breakfast. As a trained chef, Heather, the inn’s owner, takes great pride in offering fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and it truly shows in the quality and flavor of the meals. The breakfast far exceeds the typical offerings found at places like The Jackson Inn, which has switched to a more basic "continental" breakfast. The homemade touches at The Village Inn make for a much more satisfying start to the day.
In addition to the delicious food, Heather went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She took the time to get to know us as guests, offering personalized recommendations and ensuring that our stay was as comfortable as possible.
The atmosphere at The Village Inn is warm and inviting, with a laid-back vibe that makes it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The staff is friendly and accommodating, creating a sense of home away from home.
Overall, I highly recommend The Village Inn for its prime location, exceptional homemade breakfast, and outstanding hospitality. It’s truly a standout choice for anyone looking to visit Woodstock.
