"I arrived on a Monday but was disappointed to learn the restaurant was shut. Had to drive back into Düren for food. Germany doesn't seem to like Mondays! Hotel is good, if not slightly tired, but very clean and I slept well. My Monday evening disappointment was short lived following a very welcoming and wonderful breakfast. Very nice staff."

Die Außenanlage wirkt ungepflegt & vermittelt einen wenig einladenden Eindruck. Auch im Inneren zeigt sich ein veralteter Zustand – zwar grundsätzlich funktional, aber längst nicht mehr zeitgemäß.
Was uns jedoch auf dem Weg ins Zimmer und im Zimmer selbst erwartete, kann man nur als Renovierungs-Fail bezeichnen:
Flur: Unsachgemäß verlegte Fliesen und hochstehende Teppichkanten stellen eine deutliche Stolpergefahr dar.
Zimmer: Der Zustand war schlichtweg...
"nog eens een nachtje in het sportcomplex gelogeerd. deze keer is het wat tegen gevallen. 30gr geweest. komt in de kamer. koelkast zit niet eens in. wil tv kijken, niets, geen enkel kanaal. wifi ook niet. douchen dan maar, komt bijna geen water uit de douchekop. een heel camping met stroom, maar een laadpaal 1,5 km verder "
"Lovely accommodation in a beautiful area though we were on foot backpacking and unfortunately there was no evening food available so we didn’t eat as it was a walk back into town.
Nice area to explore either walking or cycling and was very close to walk to the ferry on Rursee to go on to Rurburg. "

"Convenient to get to Merode. Unfortunately we stayed the night there was a large group also staying and there was a lot of noise. We were also mostly unable to use the kitchen because the group that was staying kind of took it over. Parking and access was a bit tricky, as another guest had parked in two spots, so we had to find a place a few blocks away. The keypad for the door was a bit sensitive. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable."
"Room was ok. A bit warm as there was no air conditioning or fan. The bed was ok apart from the awful pillows (which you will find in most German hotels sadly) which are big, floppy and offer no support to your head. The bathroom was clean.
The hill up to the hotel is very steep if youre walking. Hard work with a heavy suitcase, especially on the cobbles!
Surrounding area nice. Near to the old town with the beautiful castle and churches.

Luckily the lady there could recommend another place to eat that night.
