Top Wilpattu National Park Hotel Reviews
Wilds Wilpattu
"We had an amazing stay here, it really does add to the whole safari experience as you feel completely out in the middle of the jungle. One night at dinner we even heard the warning call of deer nearby that the staff told us meant a leopard was near too, truly a once in a lifetime dining experience. With this being more of a glamping like experience you do need to be prepared to have some bugs in the room. The bathrooms are also a little bit rough and ready with some signs of wear but again being in the middle of nature this is to be expected and it still does feel like a luxury glamping experience. The staff and food were brilliant and the dinner setting is one I won’t forget! The location is very private and it really sets up your safari from minute one. Each lodge is incredibly private and not overlooked at all, this makes for a very peaceful escape. It is about a five minute drive from the gates to Wilpattu national park which saves you some extra time in bed for the early morning safari start which is an added bonus."

"Lovely Staff. Great place"
Taru Villas Villu - Willpattu
"Where do we even begin — Taru Villas Vilu was one of those rare stays that exceeded every expectation. The hospitality is truly world-class, thanks to an incredible team, especially our butler Kalum and safari guide Sam, who made our holiday one we’ll never forget. Sam captured our beautiful sunset mangrove picnic ending a perfect first day on a private beach with tea and snacks set up just for us. Kalum attended to our every need with warmth and care, while Sam’s sharp eye made our two half day safaris at Wilpattu National Park unforgettable. Highlights included crocodiles, deer, mongooses, countless birds and a stunning female leopard lazing in a tree. Pure magic! The food was exceptional — the Sri Lankan curries, hoppers, their seafood BBQ, every dish a chef’s kiss. Spice levels were graciously adjusted for me, and we loved enjoying a bottle from their lovely wine menu each evening at dinner. Our villa with private pool was spectacular, and with only a small number of villas on the property, privacy and tranquility are guaranteed. R&R at its best! The team even surprised us with an anniversary cake, a small touch that meant so much. Practical tips: A full-day safari is more cost-effective than splitting across two days as the park entrance fee applies each visit. Also bring cash for tips - no ATMs in the area, and the staff truly deserve it! Highly recommend staying at least 3 nights. Easily some of the best hospitality we’ve experienced anywhere in the world."
Ceylon resort wilpattu
"Ceylon Resort was an absolute pleasure to stay at! The gift that kept giving, the staff, the food, the location. The hotel. Would 100% recommend for all, the staff helped us with safari organisation, providing dinner as well as breakfast. An absolutely safe environment for all walks of life, even helped us fixed out tuktuk!!!! Would highly recommend to all, and couldn’t recommend more."
Big Game - Wilpattu by Eco Team
"I stayed only one night but wished I stayed an extra one. The staff were so accommodating and extremely friendly. I really loved the afternoon walk around the village where I saw my first elephant of my Sri Lankan trip and evening walk around the gardens looking at the nocturnal animals. I would highly recommend staying here!!"
Kotiya Eco Villas
"I just stayed one night but was super well and kindly looked after by Christopher and the team. The area is a little more remote than I realised so worth planning ahead for that, but it's really peaceful and full of wildlife – 100% worth venturing out for! The villas are really nicely done up, modern and super comfortable. Definitely recommend as an excellent nature base."

"Room was very clean, had a little bit of a strange smell when we first arrived and the bathroom smelled a little bit like drainage. We opened the window in the washroom and kept the door locked so it wasn't a problem. Staff is lovely and has a nice dog as well! We did the Safari through the hotel and it was a great experience! Thank you 🙏 "
De Silva Palm Resort
"My experience at De Silva was excellent from start to finish, largely because of the people who run it so thoughtfully. Before arriving, Andrea was consistently quick to respond to emails, answering questions clearly and thoroughly. Once at the resort, the same professionalism and warmth carried through across every area. I didn’t get everyone’s names and all the staff deserve credit for being welcoming and attentive; from the accommodation (Nalika and Nirosha) to dining - Naveen took extra care at all mealtimes, always checking everything was right and happily accommodating requests. Viraj and others also contributed to this consistently high standard of service — the whole team worked seamlessly and with genuine care. The bar, wellness, and activity side of the resort is also a real highlight. Umesh is approachable and full of ideas, clearly passionate about wellness and generous with his time and advice. Priyantha at the bar adds to the experience. The massage treatments from Samantha were excellent — deeply relaxing and very professionally delivered. Finally, the wind sports team is outstanding. Led by Baba, along with Sachin and the wider crew have a genuine focus on helping guests progress, the instruction feels both personal and encouraging. Whether through structured lessons or quick, well-timed tips spotted from the beach or on the water, their advice made a noticeable difference to my kiting. The whole team are supportive and knowledgeable."
