"A rather sad, tired looking pub. I think it was in the process of changing licensee and the poor chap behind the bar was run off his feet, serving drinks, doing the food orders, taking the food from the kitchen and clearing the tables. If more overnight guests had arrived, I expect he would have to have checked them in as well. It’s an old building and I need of a complete refurbishment, and also has very thin walls between the rooms. Our stay was only booked because I didn’t fancy the hour and a half’s drive home after walking round the antiques fair all day, but now regret booking it as we decided that we would get a better nights sleep at home because of the noise, so we packed up and drove home. As, I say, not the staffs fault, but even though it is reasonable priced, I couldn’t recommend this place to anyone."

"Had a 3 day stay at this lovely hotel / pub in the heart of Frome. We upgraded to a balcony room and were not disappointed - the room was huge and even better it came with a lovely big bath tub and a super king size bed!! Considering the size of the room, the balcony, huge comfortable bed, and secure parking we thought it was a really good price - much less than some of the other places to stay in the town. I am told the breakfast was excellent (I preferred a lie-in) by my partner. All in all very satisfied!! Frome was also a lovely place to visit for a couple of days!"

"On the whole we enjoyed our stay. The food really and staff were very nice. The decor was a little dated and the room smelt a little musty, which wasnt really a problem. I was looking forward to having a bath after a 200 mile drive. Unfortunately there were black spots around the corners of the silicon on the edge of the bath. Then I turned the taps on I went back to the bath to check on it and there were things floating in the bath. I emptied it a tried again. I did this 4 times. Every time there was stuff coming out of the taps. When I brought it to the hotels attention. Is all they said was that there was repairs going on in the street and it could of been that. This happened the following evening too. As regards the matter the hotel staff were not very helpful but they were polite. When your paying for a suite I would have thought that they would of been able to help us a bit more. I ended up washing in the sink. The breakfast was very nice. I would consider staying there again. Please dont take this review as all bad. Everything else about the hotel was very nice as were the staff. It was just that they wasnt helpful with one issue. If I was staying there longer than 2 nights I would have asked for another room."

"Location was good , bed clean other than that dreadful. Carpet was filthy , no WiFi even though it said free WiFi , no hot water for the 2 days, bacon run out at breakfast, even thought was 9.15am no yoghurts , the tables were dirty and very sticky , whole place needs a complete re vamp, out dated , dirty , sadly won’t be returning"
