Old Colonial Hotel Weston-Super-Mare | Marston's Inns
8/10 Good
"Friendly staff, great location, had the basics and did a reasonable job. The building is tired, and needs refurbishment, but if you’re looking for cheap and cheerful it’s fine. Negatives: cleanliness in public areas was not great, I wouldn’t have eaten there Positives: friendly staff and positioning was ideal, free parking, and room was sufficient. Worth noting there did not appear to be chargers which worked while I was there but charging on the M5 is really good."
"Totally disappointed with how dated the room was. Definitely charging more than they should. The top bunk bed in the family room isn’t safe as the mattress is too tall and there’s risk of kids falling out.
There were slugs in the bathroom which my husband had to pick out and the walls and floor were so grubby.
We found a toenail on the floor too. The pillows and the bed are very uncomfortable and we didn’t get a good nights sleep the entire three nights we were there. We wish we’d stayed in the premier inn.
Paid almost £300 for 3 nights and I have no idea what we paid for as no one came to turn down our bedroom, and we had to seek out hand soap as none was left in the bathroom for us to use.
The staff were very lovely and helpful.
Won’t be back."
"A clean, quiet hotel, passed its payday. Our room was a little old fashioned, but scrupulously clean, bed very comfortable with a good clean shower and toilet. The hotel goes not offer food and a lot of the common areas are unused and not illuminated. Helpful staff and free parking. About 7 minutes walk to the winter gardens/pier"
"Lovely building. Rooms clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was filling - lots of choice and well cooked.
Only negative would be that soundproofing isn’t the best in the rooms."
"I was soaking wet when I arrived and the staff couldn't be more helpful in getting me booked in quick. The room was excellent with everything I required and the breakfast had plenty of options. All in all very pleasant.
Would use again if around the area. "
