This destination is such a great choice for a holiday! We initially planned a 3-day trip, but the calm and peaceful atmosphere was so wonderful that we decided to extend our stay.
Lovely location. Very handy to walk to restaurants but has facilities to cook if you want. Clean and comfy rooms. Stayed her with a colleague who had never stayed in a youth hostel before. She loved it.
We was greeted by lovely staff who talked us though some information that we needed to know and was given our keys. The room was nice for the price and had a bathroom in the private room which was good. The beds were small but still comfy and the room was cleaned well. Had an issue with our room lock not working but it was smoothly dealt with as soon as reported and we were given another room. Drink prices were cheap and has a lovely nature walk just next to the hostel which was lovely. There is a shop just down the road and the station is very close to the venue. There is also a nice little pub down the road which was nice to visit. A very friendly area with some great views. Would highly recommend!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Staff were freindly and extremely helpful. Room was basic but comfortable. Experience was tainted by an occupent upstairs who proceeded to bang on his floor for some time. I contacted reception to complain and the noise did seem to subside after and staff cant be held to account for guests behaviour. Nonetheless, it did spoil my experience and is reflected in this review.
It’s an amazing setting and the buildings are super ,all the staff are so kind and genuine and friendly especially Mick who was on at night shift a beautiful person doing a wonderful job .we loved our stay and will be back
Great value near enough to London and Stansted airport

good clean hostel
just needed a room to stay pretty last minute with my son who had a rugby tournament. we had a room with 2 bunks because that was the only thing available. its cheap and cheerful. its close to the train station if you need to access London
I was allocated a big loft type of room on 1st floor. Due to poor ventilation even late at night and all thru the night it was so warm and hot and could not sleep well. The only one window cannot be opened fully.
The room needs to be air conditioned or need a better ventilation system.
We stayed over only one night, because we was going to a surprise 60th birthday. which was just over the road at the red cow. Location, accommodation, facilities, breakfast, price was great. Definitely would stay over again.
Like: location. darkness at night. value. staff. coffee.
Dislike: parking to many cars. No wifi in rooms and wifi poor in reception . accommodation kitchens are very good but once you get a family in there the room disappears.
