"I was going to book at a higher end hotel in Ironwood, but decided to take a chance on the Days Inn in Hurley to save a few dollars. Turned out, it was every bit as nice as the other hotels that would have cost me more. I was very pleased with how clean the rooms and the hotel in general were kept.
The hallways were clean with no dirty floors and no odors, which is real important to me. The room was perfectly clean, again, fresh with no odors. The bathroom was clean and the shower tub drained perfectly with good warm water temp and pressure for the shower. The beds, while perhaps not a 10, were definitely an 8 and comfortable to sleep on. The room had a decent sized tv. Most surprising was the addition of an extra kitchen counter area which was really useful. The small sink, the counter, and a slightly larger refrigerator was even better than at most places. The freezer was an actual separated compartment, not just a drawer inside the refrigerator.
The pool area was clean, and the hot tub was really welcome after a long day of hiking. The only downside was you need to remember to ask the desk for pool towels before you go in, and the pool heater was not working, although the water was not terribly cold. There is also a rinse off shower in the pool area which is really nice.
Finally, the hot breakfast was a welcome surprise. I had read this hotel offered a continental breakfast, but there were actually eggs and sausage and hash browns each morning.
Would def stay again."
"My sister & I just needed a bed for the night, so we grabbed the cheapest room i could find online,. I wasnt expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained & clean it was! It looks like the owner really takes pride in it! He was also super helpful & kind! I would easily recommend it if youre needing to just crash out a few hours but also its a comfy & cozy room if ya need to spend some time in it! And the added bonus... beds were comfy & EVERYTHING worked! Lights, coffee maker, microwave, fridge..
Will be staying again!"
"On a normal day, I would harp about the dated rooms and property. But here's the thing - The room was surprisingly clean, the location is nothing short of perfect, and the price (comparatively) reasonable. On top of that, renovations are underway. And what I saw looked great! Hopefully the place remains affordable. In the meantime, enjoy an actual key (you know, the old-style metal key with room tag attached), a clean room, the absolutely amazing views, and don't expect too much from the breakfast bar.
A little bit of a mixed bag, but I can't wait to stay here again!"
"Having adequate electrical sockets in the room for CPAP, chargers for both of our cell phones, and our digital camera battery charger was a plus. Also having a box of kleenex was a plus too. Believe it or not several motels didnt provide any kleenex. Pool was not working when we were there. Would have been nice to have a night stands on both sides of the bed instead of only 1 side (Rm 106). We made it work by putting the CPAP on an office chair as our solution."
