A bit too basic for us. We felt a rug to get out of bed onto would have been an improvement, rather than a tiled floor. The room was warm but small. The emergency lighting fitting was on the wall high up at the foot of the bed, and was aluminated all night bright green, filling the room with green light, annoying in the extreme. Ate in the restaurant which was good.
Beautiful building, our room was very large up in the eaves with an amazing array of beams. Excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. A fair walk to the old town centre, about 30 minutes, but easy to park closer if you wish.
Great character hotel when inside the security barriers. VERY difficult to find as the address in NOT in the main town, but on the edge in Elorriaga, not Vittoria. Find the church in Elorriaga and cross the road. I would only stay herd again if I had to be in the city. No restaurant open, but can eat in a mall local bar. The security warnings are a bit worrying, but he edge of the city was quiet.
This was a stopover for us after a long drive down through France. What a super place, all a bit dark and rustic but very comfortable and friendly staff and secure parking. We opted to eat at the restuarant across the road with a voucher from the hotel and after some initial reservations based on the look of the place we were very impressed with both the food and the service. We would highly recommend this place to anyoneand we intend to return, such good value is hard to find. We didn't get a chance to explore Vitoria but will next time.
