"Hotel is outstanding, it’s over 500 years old and it’s immaculate, food was great, very quiet, first time we have ever stayed in a Palace, room was large with a King bed. My only criticism is that it doesn’t have a true shower. Staff were so polite and accommodating ….we loved the place. Shout out to Lucia who checked us in made us feel so welcome. Appreciated Irina’s help this morning on the check out. "

"We were only looking for an o/n as we travelled back from the Amalfi Coast but found this hidden gem and can highly recommend. Stunning views and comfy rooms set in a village type accommodation. Breakfast was very good "

"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day. There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

"Excellent service and hospitality in a wonderful old castle on top of the hill. The city square offered the best pizza-place and evening entertainment in the square with cover band playing ABBA-hits. We will definitely come back and visit again!"

Luca, the chef came around during dinner chatting with the tables. The farm to table style of dining was unique and always delicious. We loved the mountain trails to explore the landscape and the views are spectacular. "Staff was excellent, but the main reason I wanted to stay there was because I thought it had an onsite bar and restaurant (which it did, but we were discouraged from using). The hotel was still in a state of disrepair (maintenance crew and noise). Because it was so new, there weren't many people there, which was a bummer. I was hoping for a little bit of a social scene."
