So we really like the property at first, & I didn't know we received any sort of gift or upgrade. Initially we were in a room that was decent & the view was lovely. We unpacked and relaxed & I went to take a shower & used the handheld shower, but kept it pointed inward & unfortunately, the shower flooded not only the bathroom but the room (the bottoms of bags and shoes) all the way to the outside door and window so it was crazy & hectic as we were trying to get to dinner & my husband had to dress temporarily & go out to the main desk while I used every towel I could find to dry water. The desk man said we have trouble the shower so we will have you move. Which was sort of annoying because if you know you have trouble, why would you put us in that room? Of course this man was dealing with a lot, so we had to personally pack everything up and move all of our stuff to the new room up stairs /new building & continue to get ready for dinner & it did cause us to be late to dinner which was disappointing. The room itself was lovely although it gets very hot & there's no way to adjust the temperature other than opening the windows which we did which was fine, but it was just sort of a bummer that this whole incident occurred & what I noticed that the new larger room they gave us had the same rainfall shower, but, it actually had a place for the handheld shower head but it had been removed. I really wanted to recommend this hotel to others but this was problematic...

Beautiful room with an even more beautiful view. The town of Vik is about 20 mins away east. Not much to do there. Ate 1 night there and cooked in the suite another night. On the way from Reykjavik, 40 mins before the suite, is Seljalandsfoss & Gljufrabui. 26 mins from there to the suites is Skogafoss and Kvernufoss. The suites is 5 mins north from the Black Sand Beach and Reynisdrangar Cliffs. Very clean. Everything you need to cook a meal. Very friendly staff. They do not have a restaurant but have small items like pizza, chicken wings & jalapeño poppers. Definitely recommend a stay here.
