The Palazzo Monga is a truly unique and beautiful boutique hotel. Restored to a very high level, it was undoubtedly one of the most impressive hotels I’ve stayed in. The location in the centre of Verona was perfect for seeing everything easily. The concierge Arthur was incredibly friendly and helpful, as was the owner Julia. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!

I surprised my boyfriend with this hotel for his 30th. The images looked amazing on the website, and when we arrived we were totally over the moon. Surpassed all expectations. Amazing

Quirky hotel in a great location between the Arena and Juliet’s balcony. My single room was spacious with everything I needed. The bed was definitely bigger than a single! The welcome drink was a nice touch on arrival. Breakfast was a buffet with a good variety of hot and cold food. The hotel was very busy though!

This is our second visit to Opera Relais de Charme and it's been another full ratings visit. The appartment is so close to the main points of interest. Also in a restriced area for most car traffic. We used the train to visit Lake Garda and with an all day ticket travelled via hyrofoil to explore many towns. Take to the mountains via cable car. Look down from 1,790 metres to the lake. Wonderful views, wonderful service. It felt like a little oasis overlooking the whole city.

The rooms are absolutely amazing and very spacious. Breakfast is à la carte so not much choice - however the suites are lovely - we stayed in the garden view emilie suite. It was very large, has a heated jacuzzi style pool (but it takes a long time to cool down/heat up), the shower and sauna are lovely and the smell in the corridor is divine! It is perfectly place near the arena, The staff was super helpful in organizing all the details to make it a perfect stay. I highly recommend it.

Different people will require different things from their hotel; research is key. I read up that this hotel was within the courtyard of the 'Balcony of Juliet' and that it would be busy downstairs, and that there was no dining room so breakfast would be served in room. Google maps showed that it is fairly central in the old part of the city. Escalus is located in the centre of Verona, just a few steps from the Arena, which always seems to have something happening. The lack of in-house restaurant, bar or lounge space was no draw-back at all for us. Breakfast in-room service was excellent and always delivered on time. We had an amazing stay at Veronetta House. The red room was beautiful, very clean and lots of lovely finishing touches. The bed was so comfortable and the room was warm and cosy. The breakfast was superb - above and beyond what you would normally receive in an Italian B & B - we were so pleased. If we look to return to Verona we would definitely return to Veronetta House.

With so many hotels to choose from we finally settled on booking Corte Valier. We were not disappointed! Clean, modern (but in a classy way) great breakfast, great spa area, not too busy... Although the north is more dramatic, in Lazise you are away from the tourists and you can still catch a bus or taxi to the north for the afternoon if you wish. For relaxation and re-charging you batteries this is 5/5.

The Tenuta is a very special place: nested in the vineyards of the Valpolicella atop a hill giving you breathtaking views from every angle, it really gives you the opportunity to relax and retreat. The hotel grounds seemed to be in construction probably ahead of the high season, and the pool area wasn’t opened yet (April despite high 20s temperatures) so it wasn’t as perfect as it could have been but not a big issue.
