The review that persuaded me to book this hotel was the one which said something like 'I'm not a beach person but I loved this hotel'. Beautiful, peaceful, discreet, the attention to detail. L'occitane bathroom products, very comfortable bed, a shower and bathroom open to the warm air, delicious food in the restaurant (evening buffet concentrated on quality rather than quantity but there were still many choices). A most restful 3 days, one of the best hotels in 35 years of travelling.

The island is beautiful and well laid out. There is plenty to do and see or lots of places to just chill out. The staff on the island were fantastic. Honestly the best service we have had anywhere. The hotels buffet offerings were exceptional. The resturants near the main hotel are offering good service and great quality food. The only advice I would offer any would be travellers is that if you have a tight budget to find somewhere else.

We absolutely loved the resort. First is the location, it is only about 10 minutes from the airport. We were so happy as we got a free transfer to/from airport because island transfers can be expensive. Second the views from all parts of the property are just stunning. Third the food! Excellent holiday, great staff, very romantic and relaxing

Good location, airport shuttle service to and from and liaised with resort I was going to. On a busy road and there was a politicians speech next door but that finished at 11pm. My only issue was the rooster calling from 2am!

We stayed there for a day before going to our resort next day. Somerset is a perfect transit hotel for staying in Male. 5 minutes ferry ride and 5 more mins taxi ride from Male airport. The complementary pickup and drop from airport was very well arranged by the hotel staff. They even contacted our next resort and arranged the transfers accordingly.

For Male standards this is a good hotel. The restaurant on the top floor, is good. The staff are extremely helpful. The hotel is opposite a Mosque, therefore expect and early wake up, but every hotel is in close proximity to a Mosque. Personally, Male is not a very nice place to spend time.

From the moment you arrive at the airport everything is 5 stars. Excellent location, beautiful clear white beaches. Cristal clear water. Amazing snorkeling in the reef and lots of amazing fish that can be seen akk the time. The butlers go the extra mile and are truly fantastic. The water sport options, fishing, restaurant, and activities can keep even the most demanding client happy. 7 days in paradise and cannot wait to go back. Prajol came to pick us from the airport . He was a presentable and friendly guy. From check in to check out we didn’t have any problem. All the staff were really helpful . Thank you Marukab plaza for the hassle free stay.

It was our frst time visiting the Maldives and Baros lived up to everything we wished for. Being only 25 minutes by speed boat from the airport we wondered about aircraft noise but only seen 2 planes in 5 days and heard no noise. The staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you. We will definately go back again to Baros Island.

Great place for a stopover

Everything was amazing and even a couple of things that weren’t perfect upon our arrival were so attentively fixed with such respect and care that I don’t even remember what these were. We have stayed in many top Maldives hotels before and I would, having compared them, would rate the WA very highly. We even got to see a dolphin right outside our villa at sunset!
