We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas. The staff were more than helpful with early check in and minding our luggage too. Comfortable bedding. Only downfall was limited shower pressure but found most places that around Europe

Lots of work ongoing alkng the quays and the tower was completely unerr scaffolding but obviously work needs to be done but a great atmosphere, calmer than Amsterdam but still plenty dining and drinking options

We had visited Utrecht a couple of times before - there is plenty to see. We visited the cathedral and climbed up the Domtoren, and spent an enjoyable time following guided walks around the Nieuwegracht and Oudegracht and elsewhere.
