"Lovely two-bedroom, 3-storey house in a quiet area. A bit of light from the skylights in the top bedroom. And Hotels.com did not reply to email. Would stay again. Great town too."

We had a wonderful stay in this real southern Lake District gem of a cottage – thank you Jules (and Alistair)! It's even lovelier than the photos show! Almost any facilities and extras you could want or need were already provided, with such care and attention to detail across all the areas. If there had been anything missing or not quite right (which there wasn't), then a quick ask would be all that's needed. Easy to contact and on hand with any queries – Jules kindly messaged to let us know...

Great little place , only 10 min walk to the local swan pub , great for a group booking like ours was , only 30 mins to Windermere lake , loads going on there.

Lovely stay spotless room . Bed really comfortable great night sleep . Staff very polite and helpful. It was nice to be served by who I believed to be the actual owner you don’t see this in many hotels . Large property spread out over 2 main buildings and garden chalets . On arrival I thought the chalets looked in need of a little maintenance on the outside but I am sure that inside they are as well maintained as our room (21) that was situated in the main house . Had a light menu early meal...

Great hotel, great location and lovely staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Bus 591, 555 stops just outside the hotel and can take you anywhere whether it’s Windermere, Grasmere, Keswick all very easy to commute. Some great restaurants around. Staff extremely friendly at the reception. Breakfast top notch - 10/10 for Manuel who takes orders at the brekkie area , always smiling. Would highly recommend.

Ideal location with easy access from motorway. Well presented resort with nice views from lodge over lake and plenty of things to do on-site. Staff always well presented, polite and very helpful, always seem to enjoy what they are doing. Nice restaurant with plenty of food choices which are reasonably priced. Definitely will be going back.

This is the third time we have stayed at the Rothay Manor and we were not disappointed. The whole experience from beginning to end was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and the evening dining was a joy (word of caution - not really suitable for those who expect a large serving of meat and two veg followed by pud as the menu reflects the creative flair of the celebrity chef and is a whole facinating dining experience in itself). Friendly staff do their best to make the visit...

A lovely guest house. Staff friendly, polite and always helpful. Our room in The Hideaway was clean and modern. The bed was a bit harder than we’d like. We would love to go back and have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.
