"I last stayed here more than 4 years ago and it was okay. Since then they have improved beyond measure. Extensive expansion, a new restaurant and much more professional. It is at the highest end of budget, delivers fantastic value in a good but quiet location and the service was brilliant - especially from Shakira and Angel. If I am ever in the area I would definitely choose Banda Lodge for value, ambience and service. And the Swedish beef/potato/egg thing on the menu is delicious!"

"I am really, really tired of hotels claiming that they have ‘free wifi’ (I stay in hotels >300 nights per year). This hotel had only intermittent electricity (so no power to the small fan in the room at night). In 48 hour stay perhaps 2 hours of connectivity. "My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!).
