The Staff and employees were very friendly and courteous. Room was very clean. Very nice and quiet. Staff assisted me in obtaining a car rental when all other agencies were fully booked. I will stay here again.

Hotel is dated and basic
Everything about this hotel is very dated and basic. The room was large but the bed was not very comfortable. There is a pool, facing the main road; the grounds could have used a little attention. Like many hotels it had really suffered from low bookings due to Covid and the place was a bit sad. Reception staff were helpful and very polite. Food in restaurant (we only had breakfast) was mediocre.

Great location- some rooms have been upgraded and others seem to be 30 years behind the times. I got one such room after our modern room had a broken AC unit. The new room we received had no outlets that could charge an I Phone- they did supply us with a long extension cord later. Breakfast was included, but the options were very few and rather plain and simple.

A bit old and not recently renovated, but convenient and not problems. Breakfast a bit limited but OK. Room quite large but dated.

Worth it.
Rooms have been updated and look new despite the hotel being 50 years old (I think). Buffet breakfast (Included) was good enough. Good location near shopping and entertainment areas. Has a disco on site attended by many people other than guests. Room did not have a noise problem.

Lukewarm water
The hot water in the bathroom is only lukewarm and this is the same every time I stay in the hotel.Other than that I always enjoy staying in the Charoen.

Hotel room was average but the woman who checked us out was less than desirable, surcharge went from 11% on one bar fridge receipt to 15% on another, also cheated us on what was supposed taken. Never again will we go back to this hotel as they cannot be trusted. I also noted that this woman took the word of Thai customers without verifying their rooms bar fridge.

Rooms have been updated. I stayed at Charoen Hotel over 40 years ago. It is the best hotel in Udonthani IMO.

Review of the Charoen Hotel. Udon Thani
We stayed at this hotel before some years ago. It is good value for money, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. But our room was noisy due to heavy road traffic which we could hear. Upon notifying the staff they moved us straight away to their newer hotel next door. We are very happy with this hotel.

Great hotel but getting a bit old and in need of T
A great hotel. Only one gripe I put some of my belongings in the safe deposit box at reception upon arrival. When I went to take some things out a day or two later they could not get the box unlocked but eventually after much turning of keys and different people trying eventually it unlocked ! When I went to check out same thing again the box would not unlock again and this time whatever they tried did not work and I was told to come back later, which I did but still they couldn't open it. Luckily eventually they managed to free it. The point I'm making this is a problem that should have been sorted immediately they realised the problem the first time. Don't they have locksmiths in Thailand !??

Value for money; comfortable, in the heart of town
The hotel has probably been renovated recently. Every thing in the room was as per the details on website. The room was comfortable. The drains need de-clogging, in the shower, as the water takes a long time to drain. The location was right in the centre of town, within walking distance of the Central mall. Breakfast was adequate for non vegetarians. The hotel specially made stir fried vegetables for me, as I am a vegetarian and there were limited choices on the buffet menu. Comfortable stay.

Stayed 10-Oct-2016 for 1 night in superior twin room 347 with breakfast. Breakfast was the usual English cooked choices, cereal, Thai food, fruit, but they also had crab fried rice which was a first in all my stays. The corridor to our room was very long and they had lifts at each end. An assistant had a desk situated on our floor (and possibly other floors). Rooms accessed by electronic key-card which they had problems programming initially. The electrics and aircon remain on when you leave the room. The room had a wood laminate floor with a fine of 5,000Baht if it suffered water damage. Room adequately furnished with chairs, table & chair and coffee/kettle/phone/safe. A single strip-light was over the sink but the bath/shower was gloomy(but you can still see). The shower hose was short, just reached my head. Nice looking pool, however the wide steps that led into it was gravel and painful to the feet. The deep end had a diving board but the shallow end was 5-feet, so not suitable for small persons. There was also an adjacent childrens pool. Next to the hotel were a Karaoke with VIP rooms, and 'Yellow Bird Disco - band playing with Thai youngsters in groups watching. Not sure if this was part of the hotel. Central shopping centre/market plaza was 15-minute walk away.

very reasonable hotel for the price.
This hotel is probably one of the better middle priced hotels in the area. staff very friendly and helpful.Room was clean and comfortable Good breakfast buffet. I was given free transport back to the airport which was a nice gesture. This hotel is a good place to stay if you are travelling onto Laos within a day or two

Service was very poor, no one was helpful. You couldn't have a cocktail until 4pm and then no one would serve you. Pool was very dangerous. Hotel needs a major makeover.
