Breezy unique scooter access
Really an enjoyable experience but if you’re not keen on a little motor scooter lift to access this hotel then this is not for you. However, if you’re hoping to glimpse a slice of what authentic Balinese village life feels like then this a beautiful way to go. A nice change of scene from the beaches of canggu & Sanur which were the other places we stayed on our trip.

The staff is friendly and helpful. They help you carry your luggage and send you down to and from Ubud central. However, the cleaniness in the room is unsatisfactory. There are worms and cockroach in the room when we arrived. There was wine stains in the fridge but never clean up. There is no cable TV and we can only watch DVD.

Beautiful Villa! Would stay again!
The villas are BEAUTIFUL! Classic Balinese style high ceilings. Super spacious and I wasn’t expecting it to be! Large tub in the bathroom and the bathroom when you walk in is amazing. Pool looked great but we didn’t use it. Staff is very friendly. It is further away from city centre - maybe 15 min walk and it’s not accessible by car. Staff does offer to scooter you down to the city centre so that was great. Would stay again !

Amazing staff but infra is so-so
The staff is amazing! Always cheerful and ready to help! Ubud is also an amazing neighbourhood, a must-see in Bali! However, the staff does not entirely compensate for the overall experience, and here is why: 1. There is no way to get to the hotel by car and you always need to call the hotel to for someone to pick you up by scooter. This is not a problem per se, but there was no indication of it when we booked our nights. 2. We had many issues with electricity, having to call staff 4 or 5 times to ask them to make everything work again. 3. All our showers were with cold water, except by the last one. God knows why. 4. It's not obvious in the pictures, but while there are walls to separate the bathroom from the kitchen/bedroom, the bathroom has no ceiling. Anything you do in there can be heard in the villa. Bring your headphones and companionship! 5. The hotel's website shows beautiful pictures of people walking through rice fields, but in reality the fields around the hotel are all dirty, with abandoned houses and trash all around. 6. There was some sort of animal in the roof trying to get into the villa. It made a lot of noise in the night.

The property is located amongst rice fields and coconut trees and is very relaxing. It requires a short ride up a hill via scooter which staff are happy to do. Staff are very friendly. There is a pool on site, rooms are modern with air conditioning, and there is a great complimentary breakfast. There are two restaurants very close to the resort as well if you dont want to head down to the busy toirist area.

This place is a restful haven just outside the bustle of the tourist noise. You will need to contact the hotel for transport from the main road as taxis won’t go down the small street but the trip worthwhile For the view. The rooms are large and eye pleasing. Breakfast has lots of choice.

Amazing views, did not disappoint!
My friend and I were crying standing on our patio as we were just dumbfounded with our beautiful view of the rice paddies from the patio attached to our room. The hotel was small, beautiful, and very quiet. We woke up to the sound of roosters in the morning and enjoyed our coffee on the patio with the stunning views. The only thing we were not fans of was that the walls in the bathroom did not fully separate from the rest of the villa so bathroom sounds were audible even with the bathroom door closed. Not a big deal, one of us enjoyed the patio so the other could enjoy the privacy ;) The location is off of the main road, and the staff happily offered us scooter rides to the Main Street which was so lovely and very convenient. Would absolutely recommend and hope to stay again!

Great place to stay.
Beautiful location, wonderful staff. Great breakfast. Some nice restaurants close by if you want a change from busy Ubud town. We stayed in a villa with a stunning view over the rice paddies. Only downside is that the villa could have done with a ‘spring clean’. Regardless, we loved it.

We had a King Suite and the room was great. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. My favourite feature was the bay window looking out to the rice field. There were no rice plants when we stayed (mid-February) but the view was still beautiful! The hotel is an easy walk from the centre of Ubud (about 15 mins). However the last part of the road there is not accessible by car. The hotel does provide a FREE pick-up and drop-off service by scooter so it's not a problem if you want to get to town but don't want to walk or have luggage to carry. The only inconvenience is if you want to be picked up by tours, taxi drivers etc..., you can't wait for them at the hotel - you have to go down to a nearby car park or to the street next to Starbucks. The hotel can drop you there for free, 24/7. We were picked up for a Mount Batur sunrise trekking tour at 2:30 am and that was no problem. We did let reception know in advance so they know how many of us require transport at that odd hour. Overall, we were very happy with our stay there.

Peace and Comfort in Ubud
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The villa was large, clean, and beautiful. The staff were kind and helpful. It felt very private and the surrounding area was peaceful. Solo Villas has one of the better deals in town for renting a moto, and you get the bike right from the hotel. I had a Balinese massage in our villa and it was one of the best I've ever had. We would definitely come back!

New and well maintained, clean rooms, great free breakfast, great service. But no access road for cars was not communicated and unexpected, requiring rendezvous by motorbike to get to the place. It was a bit of a shocker on check-in with my parents and our 2 year old daughter, late at night. But once it's known, my daughter loves the motorbike transit everyday of our stay. In chinese, she says "motorbike is fast fast and fun fun!"

One of the best places I've stayed, anywhere (and this was my fourth time in Ubud). Friendly, professional service, beautiful rooms, great breakfast, decent pool, and stunning scenery. The hotel staff will take you to the centre of town on a moto but it's also a lovely 15 minute walk (if not too swelteringly hot). It's peaceful but if you're a light sleeper like me then ear plugs and an eye mask are still a good idea - those roosters start early! The massage hut just down the road does an incredible traditional massage. Highly recommended.

Really surprising spot away from the craziness of Ubud but close enough to jump back into moped land if you like. The staff was young and cheerful! The Villa was private, clean, and roomy. Sitting on your back deck in the middle of a rice paddy was very cool! Breakfast was good but no meat (bummer for me). Finding the place is an adventure. You can’t take a car all the way to the villa. The staff picks you up on scooters. You’ll need to call them when you hit a small path at the end of the road. The scooters added to the fun. My wife and I are in our 50’s. The scooters made us feel like kids again — hold on tight!! There are also some nice restaraunts hidden neat the restaurant; Sweet Orange was nice local fair (cheap). Luxe serves high end western fair. Had a good ribeye and bottle of wine (expense).

Great hotel. Perfect retreat away from the busy main streets in Ubud. View of the rice fields from the villa were amazing. However being away from the main streets either means a 15 minute walk down or the hotel offer a scooter drop off. You’ll get lots of chances to get used to being on the back of a scooter!

Really Good Experience
Set amidst the rice fields, yet very close to the centre of Ubud, staying at Solo Villas was an absolute delight. The staff are very friendly, extremely competent and helpful led by Laurie, the charming host and owner. They are all a wonderful team and made our stay a real pleasure. Our 17 year daughter loved the trips on the motorbike (as did we).The friendly atmosphere and mixing with other guests at breakfast enabled us to pick up recommendations on local restaurants, shopping, and events. The rooms are spacious and well-catered for. The lack of TV reception was offset by good internet connection to keep up with news and a DVD recorder with supply of DVDs. We wholeheartedly recommend it and send a big “thank you” to Solo Villas staff.

Look no further tham Solo Villas. Beautiful location fabilous staff great food and local knowledge. Clean rooms that are comfortable with great views of the rice fields. Complimentary scooters to and from the town too! They cam also provide a reasonably priced taxi aervice from and to the airport. Top class!

I had 7 nights stay in Soli Villa. It’s wonderful experience. Wake up every morning with mountain and rice field view... Staff are all young locals and extremely friendly and kind! Breakfast was delicious too! Will return and stay again!

Fantastic place to relax surrounded by rice fields
I stayed here for 3 nights with my 5yr old daughter. We both absolutely loved the experience. Staff are great, for example they greeted my daughter by name from the first morning. The surrounding environment is amazing, rice fields all around you and provides for nice walk right at your doorstep. At the same time, cafés, shops, restaurants are just a 15 min walk away. Room is comfy and quiet. Great to fall asleep with only the sounds of frogs and insects, no cars, no noise from the city. Btw there are other villas along the same path so do not expect a 100% secluded environment.

There is no car road to the hotel, must walk (more than 400m) or use motorcycles, which is very inconvenient to us. We called the staff to pick us up, but somehow one of the male staff seemed unfriendly during check in, and there was a reservation problem about the breakfast. The room was big (with big bathroom!) but dark. It would be perfect if more lights were provided. The view outside the room was stunning. We could see rice field during the daytime, and stars (when there is no cloud) and firefly in the rice field at night. Recommended to someone who wants to relax in a quiet place.

Gorgeous location
Everything about our stay was excellent. We stayed in a deluxe king room overlooking the rice fields. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was amazing. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the fireflies at night. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff at the villas and our 10 year old son just loved the bike rides to and from the Main Street in a Ubud. Lovely breakfasts and just a lovely quiet place to stay. Highly recommend!!!

Made a booking for my wedding anniversary and initially wanted to book the villa but booked the king suite instead by mistake. Made a call in to ask if I could pay additional to make a change and explained the situation to them, but was told that they would prepare a surprise for my wife to make sure its a wonderful experience. Looked forward to it but upon checking in nothing was done. The villa was not accessible by car and they had to send their guys to pick us in bikes, this meant that 3 of us were on a bike whereas my luggages were on another. Because of the distance we decided to rent a bike. Walls of the room were thin so when people were up early we could hear their chattering from the inside of our room. Plenty of bugs because we were next to a rice field but that is completely understandable. Authentic experience there, but aside from cleaning the trash and making our bed, the floors were left dirty and this was unpleasant because no bedroom slippers were provided. We were expecting tissue box at least in order to rid some bugs with the tissue but aside from the toilet roll it wasn't included. Aside from that the staffs were friendly but don't expect them to be around all the time unless you call them on a cellphone that's provided. If you could enjoy your holiday with the problems faced then it's overall still a good experience.

We are so sorry that your stay wasn't a perfect 5. As you the Deluxe King Suite is sarrounded by ricefields the talking you heard was from the farmers tending to he crop. Great great service, far location
The staff at the hotel are amazing and made our stay great! However, the internet was down the whole time we were there - which was a huge issue due to the rain. That said, they gave us mobile phones to keep in touch and were helpful in assisting. The rooms were large and gorgeous, in the rice fields but a little far from the main area - the location was misleading when booked, but the friendly staff shuttled us back and forth at any given time.

Rice field tranquility
These villas are located just a couple of minutes outside the bustle of Ubud. Feels quite amazing actually when you head down a narrow road and so quickly are enveloped in peacefulness. Solo villas were very well appointed. The property is small but not at all cramped. The rooms themselves are large. Ours overlooked the rice field. So calming you can't believe it. Clean small pool area. The staff are very friendly (not unlike most Balinese people). Breakfast is just as good as anything you can find in Ubud. De-stress, de-compress and enjoy finding your center again.
