This place is absolute magic. The hotel is gorgeous. We had a bath on the balcony. Having a bath sitting in the jungle with storms rolling in was a beautiful experience. The room is stunning. Comfortable bed. Food was good. Only complaint is they need cable like foxtel because the tv reception doesn’t work. Can’t log into Netflix (even though they say you can- it didn’t work and they don’t have their own account) so we had to watch movies through YouTube. This is not ideal. They really need their own account for Netflix due to the reception. Apart from that I couldn’t fault the place. No shops near by so take some treats or incidentals with you.
My wife and I loved staying at Kastara. We stayed in the Pool Suites and it was the best view I have ever seen. The service was amazing and the resort was very clean. We used the spa almost everyday and loved their massage packages. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to stay near Ubud.
This resort is perfect if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Ubud town centre. The view overlooking the surrounding rainforest is spectacular and we could hear the gentle sounds of the waterfall near the day spa in the resort. The room was clean and provided all the necessary amenities. The only thing that we could fault is the food and drinks. The resort is a 20-min drive from the town centre and you cannot use online booking apps (Grab etc) so your food and drink options are limited to the resort’s restaurant and pool bar. There also is no shuttle service so you need to factor in taxis if you intend to do some sightseeing. We went to the day spa in the resort and it was wonderful. Overall the resort was quiet and relaxing with great service!
