"Excellent classic hotel with large well appointed rooms ,comfortable beds in a fabulous location. Literally just minutes walk from Matsumoto Castle. The Onsen was superb after a long day of walking and touring. The breakfast buffet combined Japanese and Western style and was delicious. Hospitable and excellent staff. "
"This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed! Amazing view of the mountains. The cottage was spacious, warm, beautifully presented and had all the amenities as described. The reception staff were so friendly and were able to help us with a few questions in English. They even gave us a mobile phone so we could call them from the cottage if required. "The room was lovely and more spacious than others we’ve stayed at. Staff was wonderful and the breakfast buffet had a nice variety of foods, Japanese curry, rice, scrambled eggs, sausage as well as croissants with butter and jam, pain au chocolat and the coffee was good 😊"

"I loved the Onsen especially the outdoor Onsen with stone sides (on top floor and well fenced). The laundry worked well. Breakfast was excellent although the breakfast room is a bit cramped. Room was large by Japanese standards and comfortable. The free treats and bedtime noodles are great. Overall a lovely stay. "
