Our stay in this property was brief, but some notes should be made to advise any future travelers. This property is currently The Newmarket Hotel, but the sign on the door is a Fairfield Inn by Marriot. You have to bear that in mind as you read the rest of the review. The property has been completely renovated and the rooms are brand new (there was still a plastic cover on our lamp shade kind of new!) and as a result the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. Still within the realm of what you’d expect from a Fairfield in terms of amenities. That being said - the toiletries provided were very minimal (as this was a one night stay we didn’t pack our own thinking we’d be fine) and it looks like they’re transitioning into refillable items later but for now maybe just kept using the previous hotel’s remaining stock. Towels were also limited. For a brand new bathroom, there were cracks within the seal of the caulking and the floors needed further finishing. Again, still functional and got the job done. There may be a plumbing mix issue with water as there is no cold water. Only warm or hot. Better problem to have than a no hot water situation, but odd. The staff was courteous and accommodating at time of check in, and very responsive and friendly. It really set the tone for our experience in a positive way, which is why the property itself left some confusion. The hotel is so quiet, even with a baseball team staying there. Great food 2 mins drive!

The hotel is in the middle of not only a major renovation, its also becoming a Fairfield by Marriot..sign already up There was nothing indicating Newmarket Hotel and Suites..which was confusing Room and hallway were clean and modern Good price Lobby was in the final stages of reno but all new furnishings/ areas were taped-off Temporary breakfast area was in old un-renoed conf room Scrambled eggs/ baked beans/ fried chicken(??)..breads juices coffee and tea..the usual..it was decent Front desk staff were nice and helpful I suspect it will be consiserably more expensive when the reno/ re-brand is completed It will be a beautiful hotel..

This hotel is undergoing renovations and they are worth it! Was a little confusing on arrival cause the name of the hotel is changing but the lobby was clean and smelt nice. Real plants !!! And the hotel room is incredibly clean. The pillowcases have embroidered text letting you know which pillows are firm or soft. Bed is cozy and there is a Keurig and nice sized mini fridge in the room. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying here again.

They were under construction so it was difficult to make sure I was in the right place. But even for a construction zone, it was clean and bright. Staff were friendly and check in and check out were easy. The only issue is no real dining walking distance to the hotel. There is one place beside, but I would not go back there. Hotel I would go back to though!

I realize they are in transition but having to ask the front desk for toilet paper is unacceptable and when we asked the lady opened a safe and gave us a half roll that I am assuming had been used previously, disgusting. Very small flimsy plastic cups in the room. We requested glass or even better paper cups but were told they didnt have any. Very noisey and when I called down and asked for security to come up to the floor I was told they did not have security. Very disappointed as we have stayed at other Fairfield’s and they were great, we will not return to this one.

I would have happily given a better review if the hotel was not under construction. But unfortunately the site did not say it was being taken over by Marriott and that more than just a couple amentities were not available. We esentially onlyonly had our room to retreat to as the rest of the building was empty and being updated. No where to sit, or lounge or workout. Also no one mentioned breakfast when we arrived and when we heard there was breakfast it was not overly exciting. At one point there was no one at the front dest for a short period of time. Lamps still had plastic covers on them in the room and the bathroom fixtures looked liked they were rushed to install with a lot of grout on the wallpaper. I think the hotel has potential but should not have been made available until it had more to offer. Disapointed for the price we paid.

The worst stay of my life
This is been the worst day of my life. The hotel is in shambles under construction. What they don’t tell you is that they have construction cruise drilling and working on the hotel while it is still very early. The staff this misses you for complaining about the noise level of the construction. They don’t care if you complain.
