Fairyland experience

It was the most amazing weekend for both the two legged and the four legged guests. The cottage was clean and neat - with a VERY functional fireplace to keep you warm. Ideal for getting away from it all. The hosts were kind and friendly. Breathtakingly beautiful environment.

This place is truly amazing, peaceful. forget about the urban rat race and RELAX at Riverman Cabin. Thanks to host Linda and Gary who made us feel so welcome and at home, Mine View Restaurant, there was Mandy and Gary who went to great lengths to make sure our one day stay was comfortable. We will be BACK!!

Firstly this property appeared on a search for accommodation in 'Dullstroom'. The property description on the website had ZERO indication that it was a 45 minute really treacherous car busting 'gravel' road to reach it. To be fair this was communicated in a whatsapp AFTER the booking was made, however NO description of how bad the road was - just a 'gravel' road. Had this been the case we would not have booked here. You need a bakkie at the least to arrive unscathed here. One of our vehicles was a bakkie but not the other. Our plan was to tour the area daily over the long weekend period of 4 days however when we arrived we realised that there was no way our vehicles would survive the in and out travel on the daily. We therefore made a decision to leave the next day and asked a staff member if the person in charge was available as we needed to inform her - of which he indicated she was. We could have just left without saying anything but we did not consider this appropriate. 10 mins later a rather aggressive individual sped up to the house and asked that he heard we were leaving and there was a balance outstanding. Upon trying to communicate the issue that we cannot proceed with our plans he indicated rather threateningly (with zero hospitality skills) that the road was communicated in advance, and that his vehicle could do it, and that's our choice and the balance must be paid. When you arrive here, you cant move around and you need a very capable vehicle! Communication!

Romantische rustige plek aan een meertje!

Het is een heerlijk huisje met een prachtig uitzicht om in te verblijven. We hadden hier wel een week of langer kunnen blijven. Ik kan me voorstellen dat men met kinderen er ook heel graag zou zijn. Even 'off-grid', geen bereik tenzij bij de wifipunten (zeer dichtbij het huisje), alles aanwezig om te kunnen koken, prima badkamer en heerlijk bed. Er is hout aanwezig om een haard te kunnen maken. Een heel romantische verblijfsplek. Goed om te weten is dat het lastig kan zijn om de plek te bereiken met een 4x2 auto. Het is zeker te doen - mits je voorzichtig rijdt. Een 4x4 of een hoge auto rijdt wel wat comfortabeler. Ook goed om te weten is dat de badkamer in dit huisje een kamer is in de gehele kamer, die dicht kan, maar het heeft geen plafond. Het plafond van de badkamer is het plafond van het gehele huis.
