Hedge on the Ashleworth-Tirley road near Hasfield The Great House at Hasfield can be seen through the gap in the hedge. New Spring growth is appearing in the hedgerow and the Willows in the foreground have recently been pollarded.
The River Severn downstream of Haw Bridge in Springtime
The Haw Bridge over the river Severn This bridge was completed in September 1961 following an accident in December 1958 when a barge struck its predecessor causing it to collapse. Replacing a ferry the original bridge on this site was constructed in 1824 at the behest of the people of Cheltenham hoping trade with south Wales might by-pass Gloucester! In former times at periods of low water the Severn was fordable at this point and the crossing was known as "Haw Passage".

Staff were great. Room was a little small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked to order. Evening menu is a little pricey. I didn't realise there was a gym, as it isn't advertised on the website. Would have been good to know.
