"Property was really nice and nostalgic. We pushed in just for 1 night prior to hiking down the trail to catch a rafting experience. The short amount of time we were there was superb."
"The check-in process was the best I've ever experienced. You do it yourself at the kiosk in the lobby and code your own keys. A leader in check-ins in my opinion. Room was clean but didn't have a microwave, so preparing your own food in your room is limited to room-temperate and refrigerated items that don't need heating. Dining was better at the other lodges and in Kayenta, about 15 minutes away; Yavapai's dining room was cafeteria-style and didn't have anything for adherents of a whole food, plant-based diet. There were two vegan breakfast options on their print menu, but only one was was available: tofu and nutritional yeast; yuck! A grocery store was very near, but prices are very high, and without a microwave, again choices are limited. Only half of the TV channels would play at any given time; they took turns as to which ones you could watch. Internet was extremely slow, so no streaming; we ended up using our data to get 5G speeds to watch YouTube shows."
"This lodge was nicer than some of the others I have stayed at the National Parks. It was clean and staff was great. The view from our lodge was really nice being so close to the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend this lodge. The only drawback is parking. It’s survival of the fittest to find a good spot or you have to shuttle or walk a mile back to your room. Go on a weekday to get a better parking spot and just don’t leave your parking spot, ever! I hope this helps. Great place, terrible parking. Unless you find a great spot close to your room."
