Quick take: Flights delayed by snow, booking chaos, hotel staff saved the night, food mostly great, New Year’s Eve service not so much.
• Booking mess: Booked through MakeMyTrip, had to cancel last minute because of snow. Hotel said they canceled without fees, MakeMyTrip tried to charge us anyway — classic “blame the app” move.
• Front desk hero: At 10 PM, after many calls, Amrutha at reception was a superstar. She tried everything to help, even phoned higher-ups. We finally rebooked on the spot via Expedia.
• Food and staff: Restaurant food was excellent. Mohanan (chai master), Rahul, and others were standout people who made the meal better.
• NYE fail: On Dec 31 we waited over an hour plus for dinner, had to remind staff multiple times, and many menu items were unavailable. Charging premium prices for slow service felt wrong.
• Rooms: Clean and well kept. Small gripe — only two towels; bring a third if you like luxury.
Overall: Solid stay thanks to great staff, but watch out for booking platform drama and avoid dining on NYE unless you like long waits."
