"Originally we only planned to stay here one night but airline cancellations required us to stay an additional three nights. Staff at the hotel were able to accommodate our needs and actually provided a room upgrade. There is some construction going on that affected parking but everything else was great. Pictures don't do it justice. The complimentary breakfast could be improved by adding a few more selections (eggs, bacon) but I'm sure this is just an American expectation. To be fair, there was plenty to choose from and all of it was good. Our room had a great view of the harbor and was only about 20 minutes from the airport. Drives from the hotel to the main sightseeing areas are short and reasonable."

"The Northern Lights Inn was the perfect hotel, ideally located near the airport. The rooms were immaculate, the staff warm and attentive, and the amenities impressively comprehensive. The property features two beautifully decorated lounge areas, a well-equipped gym with all the essentials, and a standout spa offering a traditional sauna, infrared sauna, steam room, stone bath, and a serene relaxation room. The restaurant is especially memorable, with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the surrounding landscape. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner on-site, making it easy to settle in and unwind throughout the day. We’re already planning our return—and truly looking forward to it."

"Definitely not what is shown in the pictures. First of all, it’s out in the middle of nowhere bunch of sketchy looking people go there. Bedsheets were dirty with stains. Rooms were extremely small heater didn’t work and the water smelled bad. However, the staff was very kind and polite and the restaurant food is very good"

"We booked Hotel Duus as a last minute stay after flights were canceled in and out of Iceland. The location is great, right on the water, close to restaurants and near a grocery store. This hotel is not staffed, there is no one at the desk, you check yourself in with the code sent to you by email. It is convenient, however, if there is an issue, you are not able to get in touch with anyone except by email. We had 2 rooms, in one room, we were unable to open the door to the patio and there was old noodles in the hot water reservoir of the coffee pot. There was dirt on the bedding, as if the bed was just remade instead of replacing the bedding from the last guests. "
