Sunway, officially known as Bandar Sunway, contains a lot of the most popular tourist attractions in the township of Subang Jaya. This affluent suburb is situated less than a half hour-drive southeast of central Kuala Lumpur along the New Pantai Expressway. A property developer called Sunway Group is responsible for several Bandar Sunway landmarks, including the sumptuous Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa, one of the Klang Valley's largest and most luxurious hotels.

About 150 different plant and animal species now flourish in the former tin mines of Bandar Sunway, which have been converted into the award winning Sunway Resort City. Most of Bandar Sunway's places to eat can be found in or near Sunway Pyramid. Even though not all of these restaurants are halal, most of the food they serve is quite tasty. Sunway Pyramid's restaurants include Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Lebanese, Italian, Korean, and even vegetarian options.

Sunway Pyramid is not only Bandar Sunway's leading place to shop, but also a stunning attraction in its own right. An Egyptian inspired lion statue greets visitors to this nine-floor structure which opened in 1997 as Malaysia's first themed shopping complex. In addition to the over 1,000 shops within its four shopping precincts, Sunway Pyramid is also home to the nation's first ice skating rink and aspires to be one of the world's biggest shopping centres.
