"The check-in process was tedious. I arrived (with a confirmed reservation) about 3:45 (check in starts at 3:00) and was eventually told my room wasn't ready and they would verify with housekeeping. OK, I get it, sometimes there are delays. However, another couple came in, with a reservation, and were immediately assigned to their room --same type, same number of people. Then another couple came in WITHOUT a reservation and were assigned to the same type of room as mine. After about 15 minutes, it was decided that I could be assigned to a different room than the one they had originally assigned to me. Very poor customer service. The room was comfortable, but the towels are poor quality and the toilet paper is like sandpaper. The breakfast room was clean and well attended, though the selections were poor. I often stay at Hampton Inns, but will think twice before staying at this one again."

"Though areas of this hotel are under construction just now, the lobby, breakfast area, and our room were very clean and well kept. the staff was helpful and professional yet caring. The breakfast was also very good. If we are in the area again, this will be our hotel to relax in."

"Tidy room, decent breakfast. There for a conference. Not sure if I would pay for breakfast there otherwise when there are so many independent and interesting breakfast places in Lawrence. However, the Cold Brew martini at the bar as a nightcap was exceptional!!"
