"A great, spacious property. Modern & clean. Excellent city centre location yet calm & quiet at night (week day stay)."

"Was there for one night for work. Crack in side of bath, kitchen had very basic utensils.the apartment stank of cigarette smoke . Was only there as hotels were shut so wasn't expecting the lap of luxury but it was way below standard for money."

"Nice property in a central location, close to the beach and promenade, as well as local restaurants and bars. Good base for exploring the local area, close to Staithes, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Flat was spacious and clean, having everything you would need for a short break. Only grumble was strict check-in/out policy, not being able to access entry until 4pm, and early check-out by 10am."

"The apartment was clean and beds very comfortable. The views were superb of the sea Could have done with more kitchen equipment (such as washing up liquid, cling film, plastic containers, more than two mugs) Would definitely recommend it "

"I was staying for 3 weeks , when I arrived I had to contact the people to get the access code as they did not send it as I had an overseas contact number . If I had arrived after dark you would never find the key box as there is no lighting in the area where access is. "Property needed a deep clean. I sneezed a lot and had black dust come out of my nose. Heating didn’t work sometimes and the room was quite cold. I booked through Expedia and check out said 11 am and I wasn’t told any check out time by the owner. On the morning of check out a cleaner knocked at the door and we shouted we were still inside. "The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!!
