"The room smelled old and musty and the bed wasn’t comfortable for me."

"We booked what was said to be the “best room in the house,” but honestly felt like we significantly overpaid. The condition of somethings could have been better for the price point of this establishment. While most of the staff were fantastic, the experience at the pool was frustrating. The attendant (James) came across as overly strict and constantly policing guests, which made it hard to relax. We understand enforcing guest-only access, but this went beyond that and negatively impacted the atmosphere. His approach felt unwelcoming and took away from the overall experience. Also, not allowing guests to bring their own water to the pool is unreasonable, especially at this price point. James was constantly monitoring & scolding people for bringing a tumbler with them, which resulted in several guests (with wristbands), leaving and not returning to the pool. Who wants to feel like the “warden” is watching their every move while trying to enjoy the pool area? Between the cost and the number of rules, the experience didn’t feel worth it. We could have rented a private home for less and had a far more enjoyable stay. Lesson learned :) To add to the experience, we were woken up this morning by a phone call stating that a smoke detector was going off in our room. There was no smoke, but an engineer still needed to come check just to be sure. Jessie was genuinely apologetic, and professional, but being woken up to that was not a pleasant experience overall."

"First time staying at Moody Gardens in Galveston. Stayed one night, didn’t use amenities except dining next to elevators and the food was surprisingly great! I got the veggie burger without cheese and my friend got the green wrap; both were yum! Had the beach view and even though it wasn’t beach per se, it was Schlitterbahn’s view which was epic! Expedia had a great deal for the room and I’d definitely recommend and would book there again."

"Room needed more floor cleaning, thoroughly… No coffee maker in the room. No microwave in the room. Double queen , very little extra space. Air conditioning IS fantastic ! Staff was very helpful ! Parking is narrow but adequate."

"Hotel was nice breakfast was very delicious only problems I had was there were stains on curtains and we had loud and disruptive neighbors I payed extra for and ocean view and got the pool view I was a little upset but other then that I did enjoy my time there"
