I loved the location, quiet & serene garden side, great lake view & short walk to the lake, in the heart of Queenstown, short walk to the shops, restaurants, attractions. The service was great, very helpful, friendly staff, huge range of buffet breakfast options that catered for guests with different cutural backgrounds, very clean & tidy hot spa room, which was a great treat after day of skiing. I found the staff very considerate & mindful of guest needs and preferences. Highly recommend Novotel.

The hotel is perfectly situated right in town on the lake front, but is a little tired. The beds are only double size, which is a squeeze for two people. The rooms are also quite tight. It wasn't bad, but I might try a different hotel next time.

Excellent stay this July. Hotel is in the perfect position - right next to the lake but a block and a half away from any nightlife. Staff were all very friendly. breakfast was great value and had good variety. Would stay here again.

I don't know who bungled the booking - Expedia or Novotel. I asked for an accessible room with 2 beds. I was given a room with 2 beds and a walk in shower. So no shower after travelling all day. The next day we were moved to an accessible room with one bed. However a trundle was given at no extra cost but it was a very tight squeeze.

Cute hotel located right next to the shopping and dining downtown of Queenstown. We walked to everything including the gondola. Just a small bit outdated feeling but renovations seemed to be in progress. It felt like a well used snow skiing hotel which was also evident by all the skiers using it. Beds were small, which we knew of course, but still wish they had double queen options. What was most disappointing was the bathroom. 1-Bathroom entrance door. Has opaque film or something but was basically see through (not opaque) from the outside looking in. Angle of the door means most people in the room could easily see the bathroom user. 2-Shower door. Is all glass and was a half door. What??? This means water sprayed out, bounced off my back and head…whatever…and ran on to the floor and all over the heated towel rack. Very poor design. Lastly, I met so many wonderful NZ people that my expectations were probably sky high but the staff person that both checked me in and checked me out (same person) - seemed distracted both times we interacted. She’d ask a question then look away at someone else next to her and not listen causing me to answer the question twice. Also didn’t offer up any advice about the surrounding area. Queenstown and the downtown area is amazing though and this is a perfect location for easy walking to food and shopping. A little bit of improvements could really push this hotel to the top of every visitors list.

This is right in the heart of Queenstown! Love it steps away from the wharf where almost all attractions are, playground right in front with the beautiful botanical gardens and local ice rink. Parking for street or valet was great. Rooms are a little outdated however beds were great, bathrooms were cleaned daily from top to bottom, included breakfast is worth it. Concierge is great to go chat and book your activities. Definitely will be returning to the property summer or winter

Stayed in rooms 104 and 106 on the ground floor leading onto common area courtyard. It was our second stay here. Major positive is certainly the location (you don’t get much better). Other positives are the bar which does a happy hour, room service, small gym, in-room tea & coffee facilities and mini bar. Beds and pillows are comfortable however are only doubles in the twin rooms so extremely small for couples if you are used to a King Bed. The only negative about the rooms for us is the bath/shower. It’s one you have to climb into and there are only shower curtains (not permanent screens). The baths are very narrow and the curtain rubs up against you the whole time which is unpleasant. Wish they would renovate these to regular standing showers. The rooms are outdated and the baths old and worn but it is always clean. This particular stay was very noisy. We had large groups of non-English speaking people gather outside our rooms several times a day who yelled and banged on the doors of their party, including banging on ours. Constantly speaking VERY loudly and calling out for long periods of time did not allow for us to sleep in or enjoy the room quietly. This was a real downer for our experience. On advising reception on check out however, we were told if this ever happens again to tell them immediately and they will try and relocate us. Reception staff were great. $36NZD a night for parking which we used one night and it was a quick valet service which was great.
