I honestly cannot rate my stay at Papageno Resort in Kadavu highly enough. As a backpacker on a budget, staying here was a very special treat for me, and it exceeded every expectation. Every single member of the staff, without exception, was incredibly friendly, caring, and genuinely focused on making sure I had the best possible experience. I should make it clear that this review reflects what we were looking for (chilled out relaxation, away from the rest of the world, good food, snorkelling with no crowds) and as such this place ticked all the boxes. If you are looking for a place with TVs in the rooms, fast wifi for your (ever present) Ipad, night life and super shopping then this place simply isn't for you. Great location for all the family to relax and chill. Loads to do, all well organised (tramping, fishing, surfing, kayaks, island tours, village tours, snorkelling with sharks...) just remember it’s all on Fiji time!

This is a great hotel in the best location in Suva. All the staff were particularly friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed the wide range of foods at the buffet breakfast, in particular the fresh fruit. We also enjoyed the luxurious decor and grandness of the hotel. The seating around the hotel was very comfortable and it was nice to get cushions for sunset hour by the pool.

Bula! Thank you to everyone at the Fiji hideaway resort and spa. This was the first time my family and I had visited and we had an absolutely delightful time. The staff were fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and consistently smiling and willing to help out. The food, especially the tandoori chicken, was such a highlight. In terms of the room, the room was lovely. We had the family room which managed to sleep my mom, dad, my 9 year old niece and myself. The only room for improvement...

We stayed at two hotels on our trip to Fiji: the 5 star Sofitel in Nadi and Tambua Sands. We preferred Tambua Sands ANY DAY over the Sofitel. Not that the Sofitel was bad it was very nice although they did try sneakily get us to pay $400 more than we had to!!! Dodgy! ...but we preferred Tambua for a number of reasons: 1/ It was quiet, tranquil and you felt like you were living on the beach on a secluded island. Pool was nice. 2/ All the bungalows were literally on the beach under the palm...

Very friendly and helpful staff. Most of the staff lived in the village next door which was lovely, as we were able to to experience the village such seeing their church, village hall and some of the ladies who lived there and their Handicrafts. Food selection was average, but the chefs was happy to cook food to order if there wasn't anything suitable on the menu. Room was clean and tidy with air con and a lovely outdoor shower. Location was a bit secluded but was on a beautiful beach front...

Absolutely amazing hotel some minor things in rooms slightly dated but overall amazing views, great food selection amazing staff all round water sports included made it extra special and also a kids club really enjoy our time here absolutely amazing housekeeper Rosa! did the establishment proud left leaf/ floral notes for my daughter which was a wonderful touch

From the moment we arrived we fell in love with this place - if you're looking for tranquillity in a harmonious, stunning setting right by the beach but without the trappings of the big resorts, you would struggle to beat Wellesley. We came here for our honeymoon, and we're outdoor types so loved the fact we could head out on massive treks along the white beaches (which are teeming with life by the way), or take to the kayaks or go off snorkelling (both free). We had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. It was spotlessly clean throughout, which made it feel comfortable and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The recent refurbishment has given the place a modern and fresh look, which we really liked. The staff were a real highlight — incredibly friendly, helpful, and always happy to assist with anything we needed. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Overall, a great experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and more than we could eat. Food in the restaurant is good and reasonably priced. The room was spacious and comfortable and the wifi and AC worked very well. It as a short walk to the beach and shops, but a taxi only costs 4 Fijian dollars.
