With strict COVID-19 precautions to follow, travel looks a little different in this day and age. Here's what you need to know before you pack your suitcase for Southern Highlands:

• Before you book a flight, check if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Stay informed with the latest updates by checking government websites.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA officer.
• Instead of handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. This will need to be removed for screening.
• To minimize handling during screening, place personal items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA agent will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
