Wow what a place! It was marvellous from start to finish! The views spectacular! The staff are wonderful, we were served by Jose, Francisco and Roxy, they couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel special. The food was amazing each night, the attention to details from the chef is second to none. The rooms were cleaned meticulously too. I can’t recommend El Castillo enough. A truly magical slice of heaven!

The view from this hotel is beautiful! The pool is the perfect temperature and huge! Finally the restaurant staff are so friendly and lovely!

Aguila del Osa is a dream hotel with wonderful views from the bedroom and main lobby/restaurant. The hotel gardens are beautiful and we saw many birds including hummimg birds right outside our room. There is a nice walk around the hotel and you can also take a trail into the rainforest and the nearby Cocalito Beach, All the staff speak excellent english and are very friendly and provide excellent service. The room was incredible. The amenities within the room and the comfort were excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for you especially in booking tours and local restaurants. The food was amazing and offered a good selection. All in all our stay was perfect. Hi This place is great lots of birds at tree level and the his and hers showers are a nice touch. It's quite a walk up to some of the rooms so bear that in mind. The hotel restaurant is good and is also close to another new restaurant on the beach. The breakfast was great and the hosts were good. One the nicer places in drake bay but also slightly expensive, I will also mention the mosquito grills on the vents did let small flies in but I was at the start of the rainy season too. This was just a stop off en-route back to the airport, so no time to explore the area. All was good at the hotel: the pool, the food in the restaurant and the room. Rooms were grouped and dotted through lovely gardens, which also included outdoor gym equipment. We also saw there was a tennis court, crazy golf and a trail from the hotel off into the rainforest. We stayed for two nights at the Vista Ballena. The hotel was up a very steep single track road which could be interesting in the rainy season or when it is dark. The rooms all had a sea view and were comfortable but they are not luxurious. Some of the room fittings could be classed as dated. However, the view was stunning. Great stay at this property. Very handy for airport as literally 200 yards away. Airport only for day flights/light planes so noise not an issue.Close to centre and beaches. Hosts activities and suggest you book before arriving as very popular in February. Checked me in early and plenty of parking. Plenty of green in grounds and suspect looks very different in rainy season. Room basic and everything worked including a/c. Plenty of space outside the you can room I booked.
