Quite possibly one of the best hotel experiences I've had in years and I travel frequently. The place is amazing. It's in a great location, and the staff are overwhelmingly nice.
The staff was nice and professional. The first room they gave us was clean but the air conditioner made a loud clanking sound so they were nice and found us another room, the second room looked clean but it had a strange odor. The whole property is in desperate need of updating.

Fairfield Inn did not have our reservation when we arrived. Furthermore, they said they do not accept third-party reservations, and had a sign in front on the desk that said that. Fortunately, the hotels.com people arrange for another hotel, the Bayport, in Mishawaka, that was very good, and the people were very accommodating there. You need to take this Fairfield in off your list
The man who checked us in was great and super friendly and helpful. Room was clean, a little dated but most places are after having hundreds of guests stay there. Breakfast was your typical free hotel breakfast. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable one I’ve had and the air conditioning wasn’t great in our room, but it worked well enough that we didn’t feel the need to request maintenance. Overall it was a good stay and good value for what we paid.
kind staff, no issues with checking in/ checking out.
however, the batteries in the TV remote were dead so I tried calling 3-4 times about getting them replaced & was told that the employee can't leave the desk to bring them to me, no biggie I went & got them.
when I went to take a shower there was no shampoo or body wash in the shower, of course I discovered this when I was already in the process of my shower & if the employee can't leave the desk... that was a much bigger inconvenience.
there was a very large mustard stain on the comforter, the toilet seat was not properly tightened so it moved every time you sat down & the once flushed the toilet- you could hear the water run very loudly, all night long.
All of the staff at this location were so nice. They always greeted us when we left and arrived. The property was in a good location and was clean and comfortable. I did have an issue during my stay. Every day we had to have our key reprogrammed because it didn’t work. On the second night I got a knock on my door and it was the lady that checked me in. She said that she was just checking the room because it said VACANT on their list. I thought it was handled. Then on the day we were checking out I was in the shower and my husband was changing. Thankfully, I had the latch on the door because a staff member just used the key to open it, because it was listed as VACANT. OK, whatever no big deal, we are leaving anyway. Then, 20 minutes later, someone from the housekeeping staff tried to open the door AGAIN! Nobody tried to knock first, just tried to come right in. I went down and asked and they said it was because we were meant to be in room 214 and not 314. It is an honest mistake, but after 4 nights I feel like it could have been resolved. So that was unfortunate, but other than that, it was a great stay.
The check in employee on 2/20/24 was very kind, attentive and very helpful! The continental breakfast lady was RUDE! She sat at a table in front of the TV ignoring me when I asked what was in the silver skillet that was closed, I didn’t know if I could open it or she was in the process of cooking something. When she did finally give me the time of day she made a hand motion that I was bothering her. A few minutes later I asked if one of the coffee carafes were decaf, she said she’d make some decaf if I wanted it, twenty minutes later still no decaf made while she sat watching TV. She then finally made it I waited smitten minutes and never told me it was ready, my husband said he thinks she brought it out, the large coffee thermos wasn’t put together, I couldn’t draw the coffee out, at this time she was sitting in a different chair with her back to the counters, the desk clerk was facing the counter, I said to her something is wrong with the thermos, she ignored me and said to her coworker, the desk clerk, something about me needing help with the coffee, he hit up to help me. By this time I had to go back to my room and was walking out with a yogurt, she told the desk clerk I was taking food out of the area, he told me to put it back, that I couldn’t take food out of the area, then she said under her breath, there’s sign’s everywhere….very rude!!!!! Not sure why I couldn’t take a yogurt out when they sell chips and pop and found remnants of that all over the hotel floors.

Shower curtain smelled moldy. Stains on the ceiling. I appreciate they upgraded us to an adjoining room since they didn’t have a room big enough for us. Pool was small. Lighting was poor in the bathroom.
