Great price for a good room in a hotel that is conveniently located near the train & bus terminal, the metro, and tram stops. It's also a short walk to the very center of the city and many of the tourist sites.

Small, but clean place in a quiet street within walking distance of old town and the sights. Four AC units next to the window make it a little noisy at times and housekeeping seems to be forgetful, but otherwise a good value.

The hotel although located close to train and bus stations but is in the seedy part of town where there are more than 20 casinos located. The main street is dark and empty. There is a strong smell of must and mold in the room. When showering there is a water pool created on the bathroom floor.

Considering the name of the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The hotel had everything we needed, at a perfectly adequate standard. We would happily stay there again.

Convenient hotel for bus and railway station
Cheap but cheerful and friendly. A bit basic and old fashioned but good value. Fine for an overnight stay. The taxi called for the airport worked well.

Not suitable for non-smokers
Pro: Location is fairly good, you can walk most places within 30 minutes. Con: Requested a non-smoking room but the room was thick with cigarette smoke. We couldn't stay in there long as the fumes were giving us headaches and nausea. They refused to give us another room or refund. Instead we were provided a can of airfreshner and told to put the airconditioning on and sleep with the window open. Bedding has cigarette stains, and burns. There were also nicotine stains on the ceiling. The smoke alarm in the room has no battery and does not work. This place shouldn't advertise as non-smoking, or they need to create a smoking policy and fine guests who break the rules so the money can be used to properly clean the room. The lady working the night shift seemed nice, but nothing she could do. The woman who works during the day verbally abused us down the phone for complaining about the room. If you are a non-smoker, asthmatic, or have small children, I'd suggest staying somewhere else. We were told it's common for their guests to smoke in the room even when it is against the rules. They have no policy for when this happens, so they do not fumigate the rooms. This means future guests are penalised because of this.

Hotel Cheap? Not cheap enough for service given.
Not a great time. The room was not ready so we waited, and waited, and waited........ to be given a room for 2 with a quilt on the sofa for our son. The 3 person room was not ready as the cleaner didnt turn up for work. When we queried this with reception her answer was "well the check in is AFTER 2pm!" I told her it was well after 2pm but she kept saying "AFTER." I asked her if we check in at 10pm would the room still not be ready as that was after 2pm and she just shrugged her shoulders. Terrible customer service from someone who clearly did not care. The air conditioning in the room did not work and the cleaner left 2 shampoo sachets out every day instead of the 3 needed. The room was not very clean either. The only thing that it had going for it was that it was close to the bus and train station and a few minutes walk from metro.

Good option for inexpensive hotel
Decent inexpensive hotel for a short stay. We stayed there for one night on our way to Burgas and picked it due its close proximity to the central bus station. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel appeared to be clean and in a good condition. The room on the first floor, while clean, was somewhat of a letdown, with four basic beds in a row looking like a barrack and windows coming out straight out to a parking lot so it gets very noisy and smelly if somebody walks outside to get to their car or for a smoke. If you plan to stay for more than one night, inquire about that. Overall, for one night stay, it was a good option for the price paid.

Only stayed one night. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable enough. You could pay a lot more for somewhere posh but if you're budget is limited then this hotel is perfectly adequate and good value. Staff spoke good English and were polite and helpful.

Clean spacious and very welcoming. Close to Lion Bridge important land mark in Sofia. Only problem I had was either my nieghbours were very loud in their activities or the walls are very thin.

We only spent one night here while traveling from one place to another, checked in late and left early. The hotel was comfortable enough for one night and exactly what we needed. An easy walk to the train/bus station.

No Air con
This hotel is dreadful. when we arrived at the hotel and went to the room we could not locate the control the Air conditioning the unit was on the wall but no remote. I returned to the reception to ask how to operate the Air conditioning. the receptionist said no Air con only in July and August. on this trip in May it was still 26C so hot enough for needing Air con. I showed the receptionist the Hotels.com Website that said rooms have Air Con does not say anything about only in July and August. she was then very rude and just kept saying sorry nothing can do don't have remotes. sorry do they just appear again in July. she did not care less. then i asked to speak to a manager she said no manager. To make things even worse in the morning there was no HOT water from shower of taps in the bathroom this is disgusting a very basic requirement. on check out the same lady who I had spoken to the day before was on reception when I said there was no Hot water in room 305 she had the cheek to say are you sure. I just said I think I know when the water is not Hot. left the key on the desk and walked out dreadful service and a hotel that I have stayed at before and had fantastic service with Air con and Hot water. I will not be returning.

Nice cheap hotel
Room was nice, good size. The only problem was the mattress and the pillows. They could be more comfortable. The shower was the typical (I guess) Bulgarian way -> the bathroom was very compact, the toilet was within the shower space.

Hotel Cheap
A very comfortable hotel within walking distance of the city centre. The hotel is located on a quiet street so a good night's sleep is ensured. It is close to several hotels so you don't need to go back into the city to eat. The staff were helpful- calling taxis,etc. The reception area is comfortable and relaxed. It is a quality hotel,good value for money.

Convenient and clean hotel
This was a good little hotel. It didn't cost much to get to from the airport in a local taxi. The room was comfortable and pleasant. The bathroom had a shower coming directly from the wall with no basin but that was fine once we began to remember to not keep our phone in the bathroom and lay a towel outside the door. The room was cleaned every day and very well. Reception was very helpful and gave us tips for dinner. They also had maps of Sofia in English which also had good information about the city as well. They had a fridge stocked with beer and cider which was very good and well used. All in all it was a lovely stay and the area was a very short taxi ride from Vitoshi high street and a short walk to the subway station and Lion Bridge. A very nice start to our holiday!

Far better than price
For 22£ for two a night this is an excellent find. Friendly staff, some with excellent English, very helpful. Clean and comfortable. Five minutes from main station and 15 minutes from centre on foot. Metro and trams nearby. Very quiet area with small grocers nearby. Traditional Bulgarian restaurant round corner.

Don't be put off by its name
I arrived about 2 am because my train from Bucharest was late. Check in was fast and friendly. Room was amazingly nice because of sitting area. Breakfast (not included) was minimal - but since the hotel was a third of the price of others, who can complain? I was embarrassed and put off by its name - don't be.

Good service from the front desk. Nothing special, but good value. Neighborhood isn't very nice but location was convenient for me -less than 10 minute walk to bus station and 20 minute walk to city center.
