"Really cool modern hotel with robot butlers. Fun idea but a little scary! Another good idea was their honesty bars, saves on paying staff I assume! The spa was brilliant, well priced for all day access. The food was really tasty for breakfast and it’s on until 11am. Perfect tor lazy chilled days, they left rose petals on our bed as it was our honeymoon which was a lovely touch. It was a 35 minute walk from the centre of Syracuse and taxis are squirt expensive, there is a bus but we didn’t bother with it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Roof bar was chilled out. The private balcony only had two lounger chair and two of us stayed. I’d suggest having too to encourage more usage. "

"Fantastic!! We had such a wonderful time the two nights we stayed at Hotel Scala and wish we stayed longer! We arrived our first night very late and were ravenous from our travels that day, the staff offered us dinner right after we got settled in at the restaurant on the property. We got wine and the spaghetti vongole, which was delicious. The air conditioner kept the room nice and cold which was lovely to come back to at the end of the day. The two men who ran the place were extremely helpful in giving directions to the Main town Ortigia as well as helping us with anything we needed! Lovely place & lovely people! The only thing we wish was different was the location being closer to the main town, other than that it was great! "
