"An absolutely incredible place to stay, with gorgeous river views and even a lake. We stayed in a barrel which was so comfortable, I really did not want to get out of bed! The owner and others on the farm are kind, warming and helpful, and are clearly working hard to build an amazing space. I just wish I could have stayed longer!"

"The pool was cold and sauna wasnt working. These were two of the main reasons we booked the stay. I rang before booking to ensure a pet friendly property was available and no one mentioned this. The accomodation was very basic with a really hard bed in the master. The kettle leaked from the base, there was broken glass underneath my son’s bed and one of the seats of the sofa was collapsed. "It was a lovely self- contained property for one or two people. I think it would feel crowded for any more. The hosts even bought a new TV when i couldn't watch the Olympics on the old one. The games room was great but if I hadn't known the people in the cottage next door, I don't know how i would have gained access. It was a lovely peaceful stay with everything I needed and very kind, helpful hosts. "

"This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. "Had a lovely stay in the Owl's Roost. The hosts were so kind and couldn't have been more helpful. It was so peaceful being surrounded by fields. The cabin was very clean and beautifully decorated, and the bed was comfy! The hosts even offered to provided a telescope to use for the clear nights, which was a very nice touch (we did bring our own) We will be returning again in the future."

"Friendly staff, great location for the museum, theatre, seafront and harbour. There is a bus stop right outside for Barnstaple for shopping. We asked if we could have a ground floor room when we booked and that was what we were given. The bathroom was large and very clean. We had to leave early as our granddaughter was unwell and the night staff were very helpful. We would stay in this hotel again. Only downside was the decor was a bit tired in our room."
