"King suite 4th floor - Check in was pleasant the room was large and the lay out unconventional with the bathroom off of the kitchen and as far away from the bedroom as it could be . The kitchen was fine with a full complement of dishes and small appliances apartment size fridge was ok NOW THE BAD . I could see they have issues with small insects as ant traps where in a couple of spots and noise from the adjoining rooms (Thin walls ) Although it was up dated it had issues , ceiling stains and worn flooring the ac unit was noisy as well as street traffic and outdoor lights bled through the curtains the bed was the worst part of the stay , it was hard as a rock. 2 nights of no sleep and waking up to sore back. I think the cushions off the couch on the floor would have been choice . For a business that it’s meant to provide a restful sleep they failed miserably ! would we stay again ? Well there is a lot of competition in Victoria and I would have to say no . A good night sleep is paramount and the Red Lion Victoria could not provide this to us"

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient, with easy access to downtown and the main attractions. The parking was also helpful and made our stay easier. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience, and I would recommend this place to other travellers."

"Great location, but very dated. The hotel is quite old and has a slightly musty smell, though it wasn’t a dealbreaker. They seem to just maintain the old facilities rather than update them, so don't expect much. However, the location is excellent."

"The staff have been helpful, cheerful and polite. The breakfast tables were cleaned immediately after someone left. The room was clean. The look out of the window wasn’t on the bay but construction cranes and a massive tree. I wouldn’t cut the tree though to clear the view. The construction is not under hotel’s control. Overall, nice central area with many old trees and multiple cafes close by."
