It is a lovely property centrally located from many of the sights in Seattle - especially one block from Pike Place Market. We liked the hotel's dark, moody vibe. The staff was knowledgeable and prompt when ordering our cabs and sharing locations for us to visit. We were grateful that we could check in early to our room or that they were ready and willing to hold our luggage. Having just got off the cruise ship, we were exhausted. We had a problem with our tub draining in our room, and I stood in 3" water as I showered. However, they promptly handled the situation after bringing it to the team's attention. We understand that plumbing can be problematic in older buildings. It's nice that there's a restaurant on-site, and the food was delicious.
We felt safe in the hotel and within two blocks of the property. Even though there were three homeless people slumped in the alley directly behind the hotel. They were keeping to themselves. But, once we ventured out 4-5 blocks away, the homeless and drug addicts were on every block and more active or visible. We watched one man in particular (who was high on drugs) strike/hit an innocent pedestrian from behind with an object as he was walking on 6-14-24. We made sure we were back at the hotel by dusk, which is a shame when you pay $500 for a one-night hotel stay and can't fully enjoy the surroundings because of the city's drug and homeless plight. So it was an excellent property & location but sad city management of its citizens.
