My experience at The Lodge at Schroon Lake was terrible. I did not feel welcome when I arrived at the front desk. The communication and directions from the front desk to my room were not clear at all, and there was no sign indicating that you were at the correct building for your room. The staff made me feel like I didn't belong there. This place is not a friendly environment, and I will not recommend it.

Very clean , comfortable bed and bedding, friendly staff,Beautiful dock area to sit on with chairs and tables right on the lake. S’mores set up each night by the fire. Down side was there is a lot of walking to get to the above amenities and steep paved paths to get around the property It would be challenging for elderly or people with health issues.

This was a great place to stay in Schroon Lake, NY for the ecplise. The staff were friendly and helpful. Some rooms are remote and take stairs to access. The food at the Brown Swan was very good. All and all a great time.

Property was beautifully presented and great location. Everything was simple, but clean and lodge themed making it feel inviting and warm. A basic complimentary breakfast would be a nice addition as well as a microwave in the rooms. Only issue for me was that it snowed heavily, and it seemed like they plowed the property multiple times throughout the night under our window. This made it hard to sleep soundly, but I would definitely consider returning.

Relaxing place to be
Very charming lodge. Rooms were comfortable, clean and roomy. The staff was kind and accommodating. Loved the exercise room and pool areas. Very accessible to town and hiking, snowshoeing and skiing. We would definitely return.

Excellent accomodations, just needs some tweeking
The Lodge is newly renovated so everything is very new amd clean. There are only a few changes I think management should make that would have had mengive a 5 star rating. -For the cost we are paying to stay here, breakfast should be free every day not just weekdays. On the weekend I had to pay $17 plus tax and tip for breakfast. -Breakfast is the same exact thing every single day. There is somewhat of an assorment, but they should have different foods every day. -Serve more kid friendly foods at the Bevy and save the fine dining foods for The Brown Swan. There are not many options for eating in Schroon Lake and most places close early so it would be nice to grab a burger and fries, chicken wings/fingers, etc right in the main lodge. Mostly all of the food is "fine dining", things the kids won't really eat and very expensive. I wasn't thrilled with the dinner options. - Once again for the price we are paying, Housekeeping should be provided daily. Not every 3rd day or so. We checked in on Wednesday, by Friday our garbage was overflowing from being 5 people. Housekeeping did not have us on the list to clean that day, but the woman was very nice and came and dis a full cleaning for us anyway. They came automatically on Saturday again. -The suites with kitchenette should have some accessories such as plates, cups, sponge, dish soap and a larger fridge. These things are not that expensive and in every suite style hotel I have stayed the rooms always come equipped.

Great family lodge, clean, great value & service
Wonderful. Great family resort. Will come back again. Most importantly… it was clean! You can walk barefoot in bedroom, bathroom & around the pool without feeling that icky feeling. Family loved the pool. Hot tub was clean & nice after a cold day of skiing. The beds were comfortable. I should have brought my own pillow. They were flat & crinkly. Second most important, all the staff were super nice, friendly, smiling, helpful & quick to service. Weekday complimentary breakfast was pretty darn good, by the fireplace. No Kellogg’s cornflakes to be found. Bacon, sausage, eggs, bagels, lox, danish, high quality yogurts & fresh cut fruits with melons & berries. Coffee, tea & hot cocoa available all day. Pet friendly. Fun to hang out with other peoples dogs. (I’m a dog person.) The grounds were pretty, although midwinter snowy, so we didn’t hang outside the lodge much. Would be nice to come back in the summer. Went snowshoeing at the caves nearby and loved it… a family business & my kids loved unlimited marshmallows by the fire after hiking. Our room was on the 3rd floor, not accessible by elevator, but less $$. We knew this and didn’t mind carrying luggage upstairs. Lastly, the shower was clean and the shampoos and toiletries were good quality. I like that they refill larger bottles. Better for the environment. So be aware you won’t be taking small travel toiletries home with you. If you even care. Overall, hope all my future lodgings are this good.

This property was amazing! My family and i enjoyed our stay at this wonderful, beautiful quiet place! The rooms were spacious and we even had a great view fron the back of the property! The staff were awesome and very helpful, will definitely visit again when its warmer!

Great family place
We love the lodge. Has a lot of places to relax. My kids enjoyed resting area next to the fireplace, where they played some boards game and I could just relax and drink my tea/wine. Only thing is that there are not enough lounge chairs by the pool. Each time we went to the pool, we had to wait for someone to leave to be able to get a one.

Lots of cute lodging at the property- walls are thin in the adjoining units so if you want quiet get a cabin. Perfect family vacation for skiing at Gore or anytime as they have many activities and even shuttles and day trips!

Beautiful Lodge and grounds. Nice room and friendly staff. I was their with my daughter skiing at Gore Mountain and visiting Lake Placid. A great location for a luxury base. Luv the pool and game room.

Renovations are amazing
Just stayed at the Lodge at Schroon Lake for a quick snowboard trip at Gore Mtn. Everything about this place is pristine and really well finished. Amazing design in rooms and common areas, heated pool, sauna, 24hr gym, and truly exceptional staff. Brian, a manager, was one of the best and most helpful employees I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I got this place at steal for a midweek stay but man is it worth so much more. Don’t hesitate.

When you stay in the main lodge, you do have to park in an area that wasn't very great. That's my only complaint though, this place literally felt like a Hallmark movie when you walked in!! Dressed to the nines for the holidays. The food at the brown swan was amazing! Definitely a great place to spend New Years. We'll absolutely be coming back!!

The property is beautiful, but I didn't like entering the hotel from the back of the property. It was dark, slippery, stairs wooden, it seemed like we were entering the main level, which I would think is the first floor, but our room was 225. A bit confusing. But the check in desk let us park in front so we entered the main lobby.

Perfect in every way. Property was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating, lovely holiday decor. Plenty of parking near our unit. Though we stayed what might be considered off-season, it never felt like it. Bonus bon fires each night with all the fixings for s'mores! Would definitely recommend.
