ibis Brussels off Grand Place

"I have been a big fan of Ibis, since I stayed in an Ibis in Chaumont, France. It has a familiar feel and I know I can expect a great breakfast, easy access to the Ibis restaurant / bar and the convenience of being where the action is. Ibis Brussels did not disappoint. We were in the heart of the Grand Place, with easy access to shops, restaurants, museums, historic buildings, train station (only a 4 min walk away) and the airport @ 20 min by train. Ibis is all about space-saving, but it has all you need when traveling. Beds were comfortable, room is clean and it was quiet within the hotel. Because the Grand Place is such a big destination, there was a lot of activity and above-average *noise* outside the window, as people stay up late and no doubt are having fun. Closing the window was enough to dampen the sounds from outside. I felt safe in the area, although it was brought to my attention to be vigilant with travel bags and not to leave them unattended in the lobby. Overall, I would stay at the Ibis again. It was affordable (so long as you make your reservations early) and reliable."

"The check-in was easy and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and just what we expected. It is SO close to Grand-Place! We happened to be there the weekend of the Beer Festival. So a lot going on! Loved all the pubs and restaurants in the immediate area. My only complaint is the shower/tub combo. While the shower itself is very nice, there is no door. So the entire bathroom floor is soaking wet when you're done. We went through a lot of towels. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!"

"Our stay was confortable and this hotel is in a great location. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. The lobby was beautiful, but the room we stayed was dingy and outdated. But other than that, it was great."

"Overall everything was great - fantastic location, comfortable room, very clean, nice reception with coffee machine, friendly staff. There was only one downside, which is the lack of a safe deposit box in the room and that, for me, is a big downside."

"All the staff - reception, concierge, bar and restaurant - were friendly and professional. Our junior suite was well-maintained and the restaurant food was of a good standard, if a little over-generous on portion sizes. I'd recommend offering smaller portions for older customers whose appetite can no longer cope with large plates of food."

"A very nice hotel which is a 5 minute walk from Brussels Central train station. Brussels Central train station being a one stop train journey from Brussels Midi/zuid and the train staff in both stations very helpful with platform information and train times. The hotel staff were very friendly and we were offered an early check in for โฌ20 which we were glad to accept so we could freshen up before heading out to explore Brussels centre which was literally on the doorstep of the hotel. Room was exceptionally clean and the bed was extremely comfortable which all adds to a very pleasant stay. Only thing that didnโt suit our personal taste was the breakfast served in the coffee shop on the ground floor. Our preference would be a buffet breakfast but the selection we made from a very limited menu was very nice indeed. We were advised when we booked out that had we mentioned our preference of a buffet breakfast earlier in our stay then we would have been offered this in another one of their local hotels. Unfortunately we were not aware of this possibility but maybe worth considering letting guests know of this option. This was a minor thing and would not affect our decision to stay here again as and when we are next in Brussels."

"This hotel is really stylish and clean. I stayed in a premium room for 3 with my two teenagers and it was nice and big and nicely decorated. It was a nice base for the three nights. The air con is great and the WiFi was brilliant. I have dropped a star because: โข The location is not great, I didn't realise at the time of booking, but the north area is a bit dodgy. From reading on, they have a bit of a problem with drugs and illegal immigrants in the area, so much that the police have admitted that they can't police it. My recommendation is to get a cab to the hotel and not to use Brussels Nord for any journeys if you have children with you. โข The staff I dealt with were a bit... Flat... I don't know how else to describe it. Also, one person said we would be charged city tax at the end of our stay, but then I noticed payments going on my card at 1/2pm every day. When I asked, they said it was city tax. Then, they tried to charge me again when I left! โข The garden bar wasn't open, and the main bar was not a nice place to sit in the day, especially with children (clean and nice decor, but really dark) Another tip, the fridge is a bit useless, so don't expect to get cold drinks from it."
