"Room was clean. Beds were very stiff and uncomfortable. Tv remote did not work. Air conditioner worked fine but made loud noises when it was shut off/turn on, which made it hard to sleep. Front desk staff was not at all helpful when I showed that they overcharged me. Said I had to talk to hotels.com about charges because “they don’t change rates when booked from a third party”, which was clearly not true. They tried to say hotels.com didn’t charge taxes but I showed them my confirmation where it included taxes in the final charge. Be aware and check your charges to make sure it matches what you agreed to pay."
"The rooms seemed old smelled like cigarettes n mouth balls barely have access to ice n there is no microwave n ur room with lil bottles of soap n shampoo n conditioner"
"I wouldn’t select this lodge unless it was the last place in South Bend to stay a night in…poorly maintained, dirty, indifferent and clueless night staff. Stay away lone travelers."
"The staff was amazing. A solid 3+ star hotel for corporate or roadtrip leisure travelers with or without children. Only flaw (for me as a solo traveler) was no elevator. Otherwise it was great."
"It smells nasty, front desk staff is rude and they are only nice to the white people. Never again. We left a day early. The room smell weird and definitely not clean. The bathroom light also didn’t work."
"Walking in, the smell was strong chlorine and … something else. Not sure if they were trying to “hide” other odors.
We were greeted by two men. One older gentleman was “in training” by the younger one, and he was speaking non English (my guess is Pakistani). Check in took longer than it should have, but they were nice enough. Kudos to both men: the younger showing much patience (I assume) and the older for willingness to learn something new. It was a little unnerving to hear a language I couldn’t understand.
We always like top floor rooms because of experiencing heavy-footed above guests during the night. They put us on the first floor because the elevator was broken.
The room was nice; larger than we thought it would be. It had a jacuzzi type tub right in the room, but we didn’t utilize it. The bed was hard, the pillows inadequate and sheets smelled weird. A/C worked great. Shampoo bottle, conditioner bottle and body wash bottles were all empty; which was discovered AFTER I got into the shower. The shower tub was slick and had no grab bar. I did slip coming out but managed to catch myself before doing the splits in the bathroom. Shower itself adequate. Towels also smelled funky.
Breakfast was mainly intolerable. Instant eggs were burned and inadequate and the OJ was outright nasty. Tables were placed so closely together you were standing on top of each other where the food was located.
Will not be staying here again."
