One Night in São Paulo - Praca Republica

Quite excellent, the hotel structure is great, breakfast is delicious and varied, the only downside isn't the hotel itself but the location, they is a bit sketchy, but manageable. Great hotel overall

Good value for the money but construction noise
Hotel was good for the area, but you cannot walk at night, must take taxi/uber. Lots of noise of construction from the early morning to evening. Food is good and room is relatively clean.

Good and Comfortable Stay
Nice hotel and good breakfast! There is a construction next door, so don’t plan to sleep in too long ... the room is clean and comfortable (bed sheets too small and come out) but overall good hotel. WiFi was mostly ok. The room has wall plugs for North America’s 110v plugs.

Nice place but the area is dangerous at night. It is a budget hotel so it's comfortable enough. Staff is nice and speaks some English

Good and affordable hotel
Located in downtown, in a very "scary" area. But, even though it does not look, the area is considered pretty safe for people to walk during the day and night, because they have many gay bars and clubs around. Hotel facilities pretty similar to Holiday Inn hotels.

Convenient Hotel
This was my first time visiting Sao Paulo so I really had little experience in location. The hotel is suitably located to the Republica metro/subway (less than a minute walk). So basically once accessing the metro the city is at your fingertips. For breakfast, the layout was amazing and the selections were super awesome. A great deal of freshly squeezed or blended juices. Lovely cakes and assortment of decadent latin sweet dishes. I had guava cheese for every day of my stay. The fruits were great and pineapple was sweet. I can't say enough about the breakfast. Serjo (our waiter/host was super friendly). Opposite the hotel there is a bar that sells awesome food. We ate there two nights in a row. The rooms are small but clean Its pretty much a place to sleep and not really spend much time. You can walk to a variety of shopping areas and get a good downtown feel. For me the hotel met my needs but if I were to visit Sao Paulo I would recommend choosing a hotel on Paulista Avenue. This avenue was a bit more upscale and had that modern downtown feeling. Aurora and Auroche (where San Juan is located) had a great deal of homeless people. They were everywhere. Even though its not the hotel fault ....I just want people to consider this fact. Not once did I feel threatened by them but as a tourist it was sad to see and indeed a novel experience. So the bottomline: the hotel was great and met my needs. Because the metro was close and easy to use I visited lots of places.

Good budget hotel
The hotel is located in a sketchy area of São Paulo, but that is true to most of hotels in the downtown area. Very close to subway though! The room and the baths were clean, comfortable and renovated, but simple (nothing fancy). There was some noise from the street and from the adjacent Plaza Republica, so I had to sleep with earplugs... lol. I was on the 4th floor and there was a strong smell of food - so feel free to ask to be on a higher floor. The breakfast was great and staff is friendly. Overall good for the price, I would stay there again probably.

Great location and everything you want in a budget
This hotel is great if your on a budget. The wifi is strong and breakfast is good. Please know that our stay was on the 2nd floor and it can be noisy especially that it was at World Cup. The staff does not speak English; however in the lobby there is a travel group that can help with English. The metro stop is literally 50yards at most from the entrance and the GRU airport bus is another 10yards. :-)

Budget and Convenient
Budget and Convenient are the main reason for staying. Neighbourhood is bad. Room looks clean but got bite at times. Bed is small and lining is thin, internet connection is good. Air conditioner could easily get you cold. Window cannot be closed completely, and noisy at times, particularly in the morning. Breakfast is good.

OK Hotel in the wrong part of town
I booked 7 nights upfront with Expedia at this hotel as I was attending a friend's wedding and did not know the city. It was advertised as 3/4star in the centre of town as a "business" hotel. When I arrived, althought the hotel was OK the area was dangerous for a woman on her own, as there were people sleeping rough on all the street corners. The centre of Sao Paolo is where all the itinerants and vagrants congregate and although there are people sleeping rough all round SP this area is the worst. I moved hotel and did not spend a single night there. I paid £359 to Expedia and have not received any money back to date. I paid to stay in another hotel in the Consolacao region. The Ave Paulista is the best and safest place to stay.

I stayed 5 days at the hotel. very noisy as the windows don't shut properly - no insulation so you hear everything ( and I was on the 10th floor). Not a great area to be in, although great to get the metro and bus to airport, full of homeless in the area.... ok if you are a strong big chap - like me :-)

everything is good but surrounding are is not good
Overall it is a good hotel when you have compare the price and location. right next to airport bus stop and metro station is 20m away. walking distance to major attractions like Sao Bento, Se, Japanese town - Liberdade...But at night, homeless people and noisy bars are around. If you are not with family or female company, not a big deal! Breakfast us OK, Room is ok and wifi worked very well for me. But English is not fluently spoken at reception.

Hotel offers good values in overpiced Sao Paulo
Although Hotel San Juan locates in a rather scruffy neighborhood in the old downtown section of Sao Paulo, the hotel interior is quite spacious and the room I got was extremely clean and well kept. The large window provides a nice view of Sao Paulo's new and old buildings in the nearby area. The free breakfast is exceptionally good with lots of food choices. Staff in general were very professional and courteous. Best of all, hotel is only a few minutes' walk away from subway station Republic and during the weekend, it's the same short walk to visit the crafts market at Plaza Republic Square. Hotel San Juan offers a very good price comparing to other hotels in Sao Paulo. I'd happy to stay here again and recommend it to others.

Hotel is very well located, just opposite Placa de Republica - downtown Sao Paolo. Price is quite good, rooms are clean and spacious. Quite a pleasant breakfast buffet too. The downside was the staff at the reception, who couldn't speak much English and didn't look very friendly. I never saw them smile and they failed even to provide basic directions for a pretty well known street. I would advise this hotel for those who are able to speak some Portuguese or have some previous knowledge of the city.

Gostei muito da estadia no Hotel. Os funcionários são super atenciosos e educados. A limpeza do quarto ocorre de maneira adequada. O ar condicionado estava funcionando bem, as vezes geleva demais mas deixava o ambiente bom. O café da manhã é gostoso e variável. Não pedi nada do restaurante, então não posso avaliar. Quanto a segurança, o hotel se encontra num local com grande quantidade de pessoas em situação de rua. Logo, é importante ter cuidado quando for se deslocar à pé. Caso use transporte de aplicativos, esperando no saguão do hotel é mais seguro, inclusive é o que os funcionários indicam. Nota: 10/10

Tudo perfeito . Desde o recepcionista André e demais que ali estão sempre gentis e educados . Café da manhã podia ser melhor, mas acredito que devido a baixa ocupação do hotel durante os 3 dias que lá fiquei fizeram pouco . Demais tudo perfeito. .
