"When I checked in, I was advised not to walk outside alone after dark. It is just too dangerous., The glass doors going into the lobby were locked in the evening and early morning. After two days into a six day stay, I found that I was missing $400 in US Dollars and Costa Rican Colones from my room safe. I spoke to the hotel and casino manager and his security chief. The manager said that was just not possible. He said this never happened before. I disagreed with him as once I notices cash missing from my safe, I saw on the internet, other instances of theft from room safes at the hotel. The manager said they would check the security cameras on the floor and let me know if they revealed anything unusual.. He did offer to give me a room on another floor. They said there was no other safe where I could keep my valuables in the hotel or the casino. I found it necessary to carry all my cash and credit cards on all my tours the next three days. I never heard from the manager again."
