"La Valise Mazunte is, without question, a stunning property. The design, the views, and the overall atmosphere are exceptional, and the food was a true highlight—the chef is superb and delivers a memorable culinary experience. However, the service unfortunately falls short of what one would expect from a hotel with such potential. While the staff is genuinely kind and well-intentioned, the hotel feels understaffed and unable to deliver a luxury experience. There is no room service, no minibar in the rooms, and no poolside or beachside service, which makes the stay feel limited—especially given the remote location. I booked this stay to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and arranging something as simple as a special meal proved unnecessarily difficult. Communication before arrival was slow and required multiple follow-ups, even through Instagram, just to get a response via WhatsApp. During the stay, service remained inconsistent. The bartender was attentive, but overall service was slow, and staff seemed constrained in what they could offer. The wine selection is also very limited. The rooms are comfortable, but attention to detail could improve. For example, our room was supposed to include a video projector (the only one on the property), but it was unavailable due to repairs, which we were only informed about upon arrival. This is a hotel with incredible potential, but currently it feels like it delivers the bare minimum operationally."

"For the price I booked this stay for, I can’t complain. It’s nice, it’s modern, we did have an annoying dripping noise coming from outside our room that disrupted getting to sleep every night. We also left our towels on the floor hoping we would get new ones after 4 nights but they just hung them back up in the bathroom again. Also, one evening we showered and there was no cold water so I had to turn the shower off every so often between getting the shampoo out of my hair so the water wasn’t too hot on my skin and head. It’s a you get what you pay for situation but I would much rather take this place than a hostel! So I’m grateful for that. The location is pretty sweet though, a short walk to the eateries, the little convenience store at the hotel is well priced and the beach connected to the hotel is so good!! Really great sunset spot "

"The room was basic, clean and comfortable. The hotel is definitely not a long term stay place. There is very little places to hang clothes. With this Hotel the woman were not friendly and always looked like you were bothering them. The guys were helpful and friendly. There is lots of parking for bikes and cars. Overall its ok probably wouldnt stay there again. Its on the main road so a little noisy but is close to the beach"

"My wife & I just stayed 9 nights for the first time in Puerto Escondido and Hotel Santa Fe. We arrived at Hotel Santa Fe and was greeted by the very courteous & helpful staff. The front desk manager Salvatore oversaw our room check in, showed us the property & amenities, and helpful for us in any activities we were interested in. Salvatore was excellent! The property is classic rustic style and the rooms are well appointed (got what you need). My wife and would like to point out how comfortable our King mattress bed was in our suite. We slept very well the entire stay. We loved the cleanliness of our room and the property as well. We ate in the restaurant every day and it is very good plus amazing views of the beach across the street. Enjoy watching sunsets every night from the comfortable outdoor seating. Overall, we highly recommend Hotel Santa Fe and we are looking forward to returning sooner than later. Thank you, John & Rosa K"
